The only circumstance under which that would be temporarily true would be in the case of a sustained genocide. You could say enslaved Afrikans had identical real interests, but that's because they constituted a class... the slavers in Africa and even some free Afrikans in the U.S. didn't have the same interests as enslaved Afrikans.
