How to make VLC play animated GIFs


one way to do it is to manually edit option in the 'open media' file dialog to support GIF playback.

:demux=avformat,gif

another way to go about it is to create a shortcut that opens VLC with GIF support preconfigured.

just add the operation flag as the end the command.

FoxReplace allows you to replace text fragments in a page by other text fragments. The system is based in substitutions: a substitution consists in a text which has to be replaced (identified as "Replace") and a text by which the first has to be replaced (identified as "With"). All substitutions are always applied over the whole content of a page (you can't do partial substitutions at the moment). Substitutions can be case-sensitive or insensitive. The use of regular expressions is also supported.

You can have predefined substitutions in a substitution list to apply them all at once, and also do individual substitutions. You also have the option to apply the substitution list automatically whenever a page is loaded.

dupeGuru is a tool to find duplicate files on your computer. It can scan either filenames or contents. The filename scan features a fuzzy matching algorithm that can find duplicate filenames even when they are not exactly the same. dupeGuru runs on Mac OS X and Linux.

dupeGuru is efficient. Find your duplicate files in minutes, thanks to its quick fuzzy matching algorithm. dupeGuru not only finds filenames that are the same, but it also finds similar filenames.

dupeGuru is good with music. It has a special Music mode that can scan tags and shows music-specific information in the duplicate results window.

I use sharex but sadly it too doesn't have a linux version. it can even record GIFs.

Nitter is great. I would recommend LibRedirect (a fork of Privacy Redirect) as an addon to automatically redirect various sites to their alternative frontends
