So I tried this out today being my first real venture into VR with my only other experience being VR games via mobile. I wasn't moved.

I tried out the shark demo which the PlayStation VR recommended when I asked for the most immersive VR experience.

You know how you are able to control what you are looking at in call of duty during sequences with the analog sticks, you are doing the same exact shyt just with your head movements.

I guess it was supposed to feel real where I would jump everytime the shark attacked me but that fell flat because theirs no 3-d effect.

Seen lots of jaggies too which took away from the experience. All in all its Kinect 3.0 (never played vibe) to me. A gimcky new toy that's gonna get even less burn than kinect.

I only see VR useful for flight games.

The PSVR and PS4pro shoulda came out the same time with some bundle. The pro is supposed to make VR games run better, right?

I hate that I gotta wait a month to try it out.

VR games by default on the PS4 has to run at 60fps locked(90fps better) due to health risks. There's no technical issues allowed and they said this publicly months ago.

Witt that being said. developers for the VR game Farpoint said this:

“Across the board, it’s more crisp. That’s because we are rendering roughly twice as many pixels. So absolutely everything will look clearer,” said Greg Koreman, co-founder of Impulse Gear, the studio behind PS VR exclusive first-person shooter, Farpoint. “We are using Unreal Engine 4. We’ve done a little bit of work ourselves, but overall it was a really smooth transition — and it’s not exactly a transition. We are supporting both PS4 and PS4 Pro. So it was very easy to do it.”

Impulse Gear decided for science fiction first-person shooter Farpoint to render the same assets as before, just at a higher resolution before pushing it to the 1080p lenses of the PlayStation VR.

The demo for Farpoint that Sony had on-hand at last week’s was the exact same level that Impulse Gear presented a few months before [E3 Hands-On and Develop: Brighton Hands-On,] except now it was running on PS4 Pro. What difference did the new hardware make? As far as I could tell, textures were definitely sharper and particle effects more discernible. The clarity of the image even helped gameplay as well.

“It’s important, for example, when you’re looking down the sights,” said Koreman. “You can see that much more detail at long ranges. That is a big part of playing a first-person shooter, being able to see and engage with the enemy. And having that extra level of clarity helps us out there.”

I'm gonna give a breakdown of all the VR that's currently available, once I get my PSVR in 2 weeks. I suspect the PSVR will be the weakest, but it might have the best games. We'll see....

That's what everyone is saying, weakest hardware but best software.

And the software is what really matters. I have so many bullshyt, shovelware VR games on my Vive, it's not even funny. The OR has better exclusive game, but is still stuck with a lot of bullshyt too. The controllers on the Vive really led to a bunch of devs making cheap, gimmicky VR games. With the OR you have to use the X1 controller, so the games are a little more thought out. I like my OR better than my Vive right now (and have since launch), even though the Vive hardware is more advanced. The OR just has better games :manny:

It looks like the PSVR might be the same shyt. Though I suspect a ton of shovelware, with gimmicky motion controller shyt (golf games, bullshyt shooters, etc.). But Batman, Until Dawn, Harmonix Music VR, and Driveclub look like quality games. Plus the PSVR games are following the same pattern as the Vive and OR, with the games being around $20. VR is only good in spurts, and the games are normally short, so it's cool they aren't charging $60 per game like I suspected they would. I got my 3 launch date title for $67 (I got the amazon prime discount). I like that :ehh:

Rig's looks like a fully fleshed out game. Single player, multi player. Same with battlezone.

Resident evil can the game to really sell it.

Yeah, mech combat and tank shyt don't really interest me, but I see your point.

Resident Evil on the other hand...I probably buy that day 1.

The OR and Vive have a few "lite" RPG games, which I liked a lot. I hope the PSVR has some sort of cool RPG with the PSVR

The demo disc at launch is a good idea. multiple games to play right away. Gives me that nostalgic PS1 feeling :ohlawd:
Yeah its very smart. And it's going to save me money

I'm just going to get world's and the demo disc day 1. Play the demo disc see what games I like and cop based off that.

I didn't realize there was a demo disc because I was prepared to drop $500 on games day 1. I mean I still might on day 2

So I'll have 4 games (really 5 once Harmonix Music VR becomes available) :blessed:
