You are missing the point because you don't understand what all this stuff means brah.what does 800p look like sitting 5ft away??
600p?
identical?
You are missing the point because you don't understand what all this stuff means brah.
The human eye cannot tell the difference between 1080p and 720p from the "average" or "recommended" viewing distances from a big screen TV
You can't sit up too close, its a big screen. And thats bad for your eyes.
A PC gamer, sitting next to a monitor.. all up close. Resolution is more important
A console gamer uses a big ass TV, sits on a couch usually and you have space between the TV screen and where you actually sit
Where you actually sit is too far to tell the difference between those resolutions
Now the next step in resolutions which is 4K.. that will make 1080p look like 480p, not 720p
Its a big enough increase to matter.
You ever go to walmart/etc and the lower res TV looks better and clearer than the higher res TV?
There are so many factors to how a picture looks, 1080p isn't this holy grail
Have you ever seen a shytty 1080p TV before? There's more of them than good ones
That's radical dude. I worked for Comcast for a year my damn selfi installed cable through college and I saw everyday how noticeable that 720p to 1080i jump was for the human eye. black eyes.. brown eyes.. hazel.. even blue. panties got wet regularly. several times customers got fukked...
that was interlaced so I'm sure the smoothness of progressive is slightly more noticeable. if you can't tell you blind... and you can't see.. you need to wear some glasses like dmc...
but take your 720 and if you are content with that. good for you...

Rumor: Upcoming PS4 Update Made With the Help of Sony Vegas Devs
by Giuseppe Nelva 4/15/2014
Looks like some interesting things are on the horizon for PS4 users, at least according to Tidux, an industry insider that is known for having leaked many details about the UI of the PS4 before it was disclosed, and that kept a very solid track record since then with his leaks.
Looks like some of the developers working on Sony Vegas Pro lent their aid in improving the PS4 video suite for the upcoming update:
Speaking of video editing, it’s some of the guys behind Vegas PRO who helped with latest update, I understand they have found some handy and good solutions.
If you’re unfamiliar with Sony Vegas Pro, it’s one of the best non-linear video editing software suites available on the market. I use it regularly, and the perspective of its developers working on the PS4′s video tools would definitely be a boon for the console.
Of course, as all the information coming from insiders, all of this should be taken with a pinch of salt, but considering Tidux’s past reliability, things are indeed looking bright.
Rumor: PSN Name Change Option in the Works; Upcoming PS4 Update Made With the Help of Sony Vegas Devs | DualShockers
The Last of Us Remastered is set to arrive in stores throughout North America on June 20, according to listings at several major retailer web sites.
GameSpot found listings on Target, Best Buy, and GameFly that all indicate the same release date, along with the previously announced price point of $60 USD. Several other sites still list the game with a placeholder date of December 31st, but they may update later if the June date is confirmed.
Well sir, they always do. Not everyone is afraid of words. Some people prefer the book over the moviebreh i didn't read past expert in resolution
you cannot possibly think people be reading all that shyt you be typing.......
Well, you can tell the difference between whatever resolution if you close enough to the TVNo, the human eye can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080i.
You paid for an XB1 and you're content with it. That's really all that matters. But the PS4 clearly has superior hardware, IDK why you're trying to gloss over this. It's like saying you don't need to upgrade to Blu-Ray's because your DVD player performs upscaling. It's still an inferior product.
Hopefully you don't ignore REALITY like the rest of the people you will see me reply to.Choosing Your Screen Resolution
Resolution refers to the number of pixels and lines in a video image. The most advanced and expensive LCD and plasma TVs today offer 1920 x 1080p resolution (often referred to as “Full HD” in marketing terms), meaning they are 1920 pixels wide and 1080 pixels high. Currently, only Blu-ray and a handful of other sources deliver video material that can take full advantage of that resolution.
A flat-panel display with 1280 x 720p resolution is still an HDTV and will display high-definition video from TV programs and DVDs. If you primarily watch standard definition DVDs and programs over the air, via cable or satellite, a 720p TV is more than acceptable and will be a much less expensive alternative to 1080p.
What many people also don't realize is that unless your viewing distance is relatively close to the TV, you get no benefit from 1080p over 720p—the human eye simply isn't capable of seeing the difference. Use the chart on the right to determine if a 1080p set makes sense for you. (chart data courtesy carltonbale.com).
Your link CLEARLY says rumor. And thats odd cuz Sony and Microsoft are going out there way to say how they are listening and working with consumers on updates/etcI've been saying Sony should integrate their various 1st-party services & apps into the PS4, including Sony Vegas. Now we need a Sony Walkman app & a Sony PlayMemories app (Sony's version of Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, & etc) on the PS4.
Can y'all think of other Sony 1st-party services & apps that y'all want integrated into the the PS4?
I take it that you adjust your bed and TV distance for different games since everyone of them seems to be running at wildly different resolutions?? ?Well sir, they always do. Not everyone is afraid of words. Some people prefer the book over the movie
People who do that tend to score higher in.. well, everything. And if you surf the internet on a web forum?
Then all you do is read. So by default bruh
Well, you can tell the difference between whatever resolution if you close enough to the TV
PC gamers who don't know any better forget to factor that console gamers use bigger TV's and sit farther away
Lots of misinformation gets tossed around as fact. Let me learn you up right fast
Hopefully you don't ignore REALITY like the rest of the people you will see me reply to.
