Its basically a way to pay your shyt to be in the clear come shipping time. Also if your bank security crazy and freaks out on big purchases like mine, it's better to see if they accept it now instead of later.

That's how I paid off my PS4, I was buying the gift cards $50-$75 a piece since the announcement to next gen consoles in February by the time preordering was available I had enough to in my Amazon account to clear the PS4 amount. Staring at that $0.00 for months now, and now I'm waiting for that "Now Shipping"
