Where is this?

National Museum of the USAF in Dayton, OH

Are there any landscape photographers here? They keep saying embrace AI, why would a landscape photographer embrace this shyt
:hhh:

I do landscape photography, I have actually used MidJourney on some of my shots. Depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Do you wanna change the background to something better? Is there items in the shot you don't want there? Maybe you wanna see how creative the AI can improve your shot.

I'm interested in getting into photography and I'd like to know where to start.

I've been watching a few videos that suggested purchasing a used camera that could be a few years old, but still good for quality pictures.

I also understand that your real money is going to go into the different type of lenses you purchase.

Any suggestions on a beginner camera and lens?

Ultimately the biggest limiting factor is going to be you, as you'll be able to get respectable results with pretty much any modern camera. But me personally, I started with a Canon 250d with a 18-55mm kit lens, and ended up buying a 50mm and 24mm lens. I was able to get some quality shots with it, and the interface was fairly beginner friendly (my niece has an entry level T-series canon camera, and I found that one a bit more challenging to shoot on, given the options available, button placements, interface, etc).

Whatever camera you do get, don't make the mistake I did of buying a bundle with tons of accessories and filters and shyt. Most of that shyt is going to be cheap garbage that you will never really use. Just get the body and kit lens and learn the in-outs of that, then start looking into higher quality lenses, or just get the camera body-only and get a nifty fifty to start out with.

Here's a Canon EOS Rebel TLI15MP camera with a 18-55MM lens for $100.

Would it be worth getting this camera and then getting a Canon 250d later on?

Should be fine. It’s older tech, so don’t expect the bells and whistles of modern mirror less cameras. On the other hand, the selection of lenses you get access to is immense. Get a lot of used good glass for cheap.

Get a used Canon 5D mk2 or 3 and a 28mm EF lens from your local camera shop, eBay, Adorama, or B&H. One camera, one lens kit. Shoot one camera one lens for a year. Consume great photography and find the genres that speak to you the most. Then get a new lens and some flash. Training wheels come off. You will likely have mastered the basics and will be a better photog than other newbies that focus on buying shyt.

My credentials: fellow at world renown photography school, protege and taken in by high profile NYC photogs.
