Brehs.....it’s mind boggling how many of my clients have NO CLUE how to properly download and upload the content we produce for them. I can’t tell you how many people have straight up posted our Dropbox links to Facebook with captions such as “click the link to see my latest video”. SMH We’ve actually sat next to people and showed them how to download and upload the content to their platforms and they still refuse to upload the stuff themselves. Just today, I had a realtor post our YouTube link instead of uploading it themselves to their Facebook page. I have no idea how to get through to these people. I’m at the point that I think I’m just gonna give up on educating them and letting them do it wrong. My concern is though that if the content doesn’t get enough views they won’t contract us for more work.

at least they use a link to the actual high quality videos. Half these "models" i work with will take a screenshot of their pics instead of downloading the pics. Tagging me in the blurry ass screenshot :snoop:

Breh, I used to upload a zipfile to a directory on my website, give the models a link to it and they were still confused. I won't even get into the dropbox tutorials I had to do. It's like "how can you use the latest smartphone technology and not be able to download simple files?"

I’m glad at not the only one. It’s frustrating as hell. We do a lot of realty shoots and video walkthroughs and we’ve had a few realtors say “I don’t know why you guys have to be so difficult to work with” all because we sent them a Dropbox link to download the content so they can upload it where ever they want. I’ve tried WeTransfer, Dropbox, google drive, my business partner even made a video walkthrough of how to download the files, he even went over to their office once and showed them step by step in person; they still act confused and get frustrated with us.
I’ve gotten to the point where I believe they have no interest in learning anything at all and that’s why they get mad at us. I think for videos, we’re just gonna have to upload it to our own YouTube channel and send them the link, because I’m starting to see that all they care about is having a link they can copy and paste everywhere without even caring about the video auto playing, or if Facebook crushes their reach because they didn’t directly upload the video. For the pictures, I really don’t know what the solution is going to be.

I was giving a client 4K videos for his body shop and he would post standard resolution copies of the video to his Facebook page because he didn't have HD photo/video selected for uploading.

After he did it a few times, I stopped caring. I had to screenshot how to download images from Dropbox before too, did a Anniversary/Wedding Reception type of event and my sis-in law posts screenshots of the Dropbox folders,

Not even screens of full images, she posting screens of the images in a grid. I hit her up and made a mini-job aid on my phone coming home from work, like press the 3 dots, click export or whatever the options were to save to phone.

:hubie:

Your work is clean, what type of projects do you typically work on for paid work?

Thanks sir :salute:

I do 2-3 weddings per year

My biggest client is an event planner. She throws nice dinner parties, kid's birthdays, and sometimes product launches

All my clients are word of mouth, so I could do better advertising with a website and all that

I'm trying to expand into real estate video

I have a ton of experience with real estate video.
It's a blessing and a curse. Realtors (in my experience) have the least amount of respect when it comes to the value of a photographer or videographer.
In my experience, they have been the most demanding (expecting less than a 24 hour turn around), the least helpful (consistently walked into houses that weren't staged yet at all and they expect us to stage it for them), and are slow to pay.
Here's some of our real estate work:

How long did it take for yal to get the drone handling/shooting down? I've had one for months and I haven't even started practicing with it.
