Decatur where its greater
another techie thing is, most of these sensors are ISO invariant. so basically no matter what ISO you shoot at, the amount of grain will be what it is if you shoot it at 8000 or shoot it at 1600 and bump the photo up in post 4 stops. technically you can shoot at higher shutter, lower ISO then bump up the exposure in post and you'll potentially get a better photo than just shooting at a high ass ISO. but experiment with that how you will.

This right here most people don't even realize. Hell I didn't know about this until late last year. For the A7iii from 100-400 ISO is the same. From 800 - like 51,000 ISO is the same. That super clutch info to know when in the field.

frequency separation + dodge/burn (I usually don't even like to dodge).

frequency separation is one of the best cheat codes out there. don't get me wrong obviously its still important to be dope in other aspects with lighting and editing but that frequency separation can make the biggest difference

do you use dropbox to send the unedited photos for them to choose from?

Capture one doesn't have a file system so how do you feel everything organized?

Is there anything you miss from LR?

Is moving between Photoshop and Capture One seemless?
The file management/organization is ok. I have to sort my images a bit more than I did with LR (using color tags for different types of images).

On LR, I would just pick the images out that I wanted to edit and mark them with the Best Selection tag which was simple. Now it's a few more clicks, and now I cull through my images prior to bringing them into Capture 1 because I switched my workflow to working on a Macbook opposed to working on a desktop (that's what I did with LR)

Took some time to adjust, but it works.

One thing I do miss is the Print tab in LR. I like mixing things up when sharing my images on IG, so just playing around and making some collages in the Print tab is missed. Now I'll just edit the images in C1 and bring it in LR if I want to make a scrollable post for example.

C1 renders the RAW files better IMO, so I don't have to spend as much time with color correction... but really both softwares are capable of delivering from my experiences. Same thing different way of doing it.

Also, I'm not really doing heavy editing in C1, but there is a Layer functionality that is pretty powerful. I haven't had any issues working with my files across any software either. Def check it out, I got my copy for 80 bucks for the Sony version.

pixieset is probably the best if you not sending a lot of photos. shyt stops people from downloading unedited photos and automatically creates a like folder for you. notifies you when people download shyt etc..

For those who shoot with Sony (specifically a7iii or a7ii), is the a7iii worth the extra $$$? I’m mainly concerned about the photography aspect. Video is cool but not sure if shooting in 4K provides that much more of a benefit for me.

I can't tell you because I haven't tried camera's of comparable price. I went from a D5300 to an a7iii. The quality is fukking amazing. The low light is just special. I have shot outside, midnight and later, and never turned the flash on once. Pics and video. In fact, when I do use the flash, most people end up liking the ones without it more. The video is clean as fukk. But yes the pictures are quality too. My good friend who shoots professionally, has her eyes on the a7iiiR... So to her, who has many cameras and jobs, it's still top of the line to her too
