Report: Raiders Coaching Staff Turned On Derek Carr Following The Chiefs Game

According to Raiders play-by-play voice Greg Papa, the Raiders coaching staff turned on Derek Carr in front of the entire team after the 26-15 loss to the Chiefs.

Via his 95.7 The Game program, this was Papa’s Tuesday afternoon description of what happened…

“This coaching staff turned on Derek Carr as well. After the Kansas City game they called him out in front of a whole team meeting. It wasn’t just the offense or the quarterbacks, a segment of the team. It was the whole team and they ripped him in front of everybody and Derek’s a prideful guy, but when you have a head coach that’s not designing the play, calling the play, and then second-guessing the play and the quarterback’s play on a certain play, it doesn’t go well.”

Papa also suggested that Jack Del Rio’s coaching staff managed erode Carr’s confidence as the season progressed.

Based on the Raiders’ body of work, it’s fair to assume the entire team was losing confidence by the end of the season – quite a ridiculous accomplishment considering what the team achieved a year ago.

Ultimately, it feels like Del Rio ran into many of the same problems in Oakland that he seemed to create in Jacksonville.

Look at what players said about him then.

The sentiment is eerily similar to what we’re hearing about today.

:pacspit: del rio ...

So when the coach honestly calls out the QB, it's a problem? Carr handles the ball most of the time. He hasn't played well. He's 26. Del Rio was right.

You don't rip your quarterback in front of all 53 players and even the coaching staff ripping him to as well at the same time..that bum ben mcadoo did the same to eli but even worst said it to the media

Where was the rip into downing who was calling running plays in the 3rd and 4th quarter when you down 20 to nothing

Where was the rip into the defensive line who couldn't stop hunt who was averaging 6 yards a rush

Where was the rip into reggie nelson who was getting butt fukk by kelce..

Yeah Carr was trash in all these road games especially cold games, but you rip him in the quarterbacks and o line only room when reviewing film.

Del Rio did the same shyt in Jacksonville and love throwing blame on others... fukk Del Rio

The problem is not calling out Derek. The problem is showing him up in front of the whole team when it comes to find out Del rio and tice was the main ones calling the offense. Goes back to jack never taking responsibility. Like benching Crabs but not disciplining Seth Roberts. Del Rio cool guy to talk to in a Bar. Great guy prob. He not a X and O football coach. He's not going to put scheme another head coach. With Gruden we going to run real plays with motion lol we can feel confident when we play andy Reid and belicheat that we going to have a plan

Look at Cooper and Crab numbers

2016...Cooper

1153 yards, 5td, 140 targets

2017

680 yards.. Remember 250 came from the KC game and 7 td on 90 targets

Crabtree

2016...1003 yards..8td...90 targets

2017...618 yards..8td...55 targets

Nothing but coaching here

Funny thing is lynch had the same numbers latavius murray had last year under musgrave..

Here come the hit pieces to protect a Qb that undermined his OC in the offseason, so he can go back to running more plays from his shytty college offense, which failed....:beli:
