Norfeast groovin…
Just quoting because it still fits.

It’s insane to think this thread is over a decade old and we’re worse off now than we were back then :russ:

Btw, I have paid zero attention to the NFL or college in general who in this draft is actually a franchise changer at QB? :unimpressed:

I read this as Telesco is staying (as he should) and Pierce is going (as he should)

Depending on who the Raiders can lure to be head coach, I wouldn’t be opposed to letting Telesco go with AP. I think the overall stench of the this season would be too strong for anyone on the football side to overcome. He had a good draft, but he whiffed on the QB. Not getting a deal to trade up is haunting him.

This is why getting the 1st overall pick is so critical for this franchise at this juncture. My hope is that Mark gives Ben Johnson a blank check and Ben takes a personnel guy from the Lions with him to build this program. Having the 1st pick makes this job very attractive IMO.

This seems to be rock bottom. No where to go but up.

Jaguars and Saints are the games I’m worried about that’s left. Have to finish out this season on a losing note.

I just realized that we haven’t won a game since 9/29. Which was the Browns game.

How the hell did we beat the Ravens?

We need AOC to not return

With the Ravens, I think it's a product of early season flukiness. Remember the Saints looked like world beaters after two games too?

I think a large portion of early season NFL games is full randomness. I do think sometimes those early wins can carry teams that aren't that good into positive seasons, but usually the cream rises to the top. And the bad teams eventually show themselves.

I was thinking, what would get you guys more excited?

Ben Johnson as head coach, with number 1 draft pick

or

You found out Mark Davis sold the team

Mark got the Raiders a sparkling new stadium and facilities, which eluded the franchise since the late 70s. He's been a failure on the football side, but I will say that Mark has been actively trying to get it right since he took over. He's still "family" no matter how us fans may feel. No guarantee a new owner would do better than what we currently have.

The Raiders need the first overall pick more than any other team in the NFL IMO. We have never been bad enough to get the first pick in recent years. I feel if Mark, Tom Brady and Richard Seymour can find the right HC/GM combo and the first pick (either Ward or Sanders) hits, the whole direction of the team changes.

These last three games are so important to the future of the Raiders. We cannot afford another win this season.
