During the 2013 season, Jackson did not give up a sack in any of the Mississippi State contests. The season saw him beat out players from around the Magnolia State to claim the title as the best player in Mississippi, which was officially recognized when he was awarded the C Spire Conerly Trophy, and he also solidified himself as the top offensive lineman by winning the inaugural Kent Hull Trophy.
As part of the Mississippi State offensive line, he helped provide protection and open holes for an offense that set multiple record for the Bulldogs in 2013.
He also picked up the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week award on three occasions during his senior season.
In 2012, Jackson began to pick up several accolades, being named to All-American teams. He also made the Outland Trophy and Rotary Lombardi Award watch lists. His junior year saw him anchor an offensive line that finished 29th-nationally in sacks allowed, and he did not allow a sack during the season.
In Jackson, a team will get a player who, pound-for-pound, may be one of the strongest lineman in the 2014 draft. Jackson has proven valuable in both run and pass blocking during his time in Starkville. Perhaps the only knock on Jackson will be his speed, as he recorded the slowest 20-yard split and 40 time at the NFL Combine. Jackson has also proven durable, having started every game in his Mississippi State career.
