Bayley da real MVP out here
And she did it after a nice championship match with Alexa Bliss, too.
Sami Zayn, who I finally got to see live, also had a fantastic and heartfelt speech about what NXT is.
Asuka vs. Emma (Asuka was scheduled for the Florida show according to the WWE website, so when her music hit my ticket was immediately worth every penny.)
Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano vs. Blake and Murphy (crowd didn't appreciate how damn good this match was, every man involved was smooth and technical. B&M won but the finish was fantastic so I wasn't even mad)
Bayley faced Alexa Bliss for the NXT Women's Championship, (as if I needed further proof that Bliss has perfected her presence and deserves the title next)
The segment with Finn Balor segued into the intermission...
Next match was Jason Jordan and Chad Gable vs. Dash and Dawson, 2 out of 3 falls, for the NXT Tag Team Championship ( First off, what a difference a year makes for Jason Jordan. Went from a lukewarm reception in match against Bull Dempsey to
clearly having the time of his life getting pop after pop. This was also a great bout, and I was actually naive enough to think it possible a championship switch would occur, since it was in Indiana and the final show of the tour)
- sidenote, they had fun with the merch, having taken full advantage of being in Indianapolis, and making posters with a tongue in cheek "Indy Invasion" theme -
Nia Jax vs. Billie Kay was the palate cleanser before the main event. It was a relatively simple match (Nia is definitely intimidating in person, and after a little fuss, took care of the incredibly lean Australian. She came out in that "I just got engaged, this is uncomfortable" Kato/dominatrix getup, and put up a great fight and sold painfully well)
Last up was a (now inconsequential) triple threat between Baron Corbin, Samoa Joe, and Sami Zayn...but they still delivered. Corbin is a heat magnet but earns it now...he even had legit fans in the audience. Him and Samoa Joe were even teaming up to make Sami's life hell, then he took out Joe with a terrific cheapshot clothesline. He ate the pin in the match after a Helluva kick took him and Joe out in the corner.
I enjoyed this show more than the last.
