i don't mean in ring, but as characters i enjoy them more.
This is about where I've arrived with Billie and Peyton as well. Billie is trash work-wise but I've started to enjoy her character work as a bytchy Mean Girl. I also really like her look, her theme, and the snobby elegance she carries herself to the ring with.
Peyton isn't that good in-ring either but she's better than Billie, and I like her work as Billie's counterpart. The Mean Girl shtick doesn't work without a cohort to gossip with and Peyton plays her role well. I enjoyed their 4 Way match at Takeover: San Antonio more than I thought I would because of the narrative of Billie and Peyton trying to pick apart Asuka and Cross separately.
The interesting thing about their feud with Ember Moon is that she's basically the opposite of those two. Her ringwork is great but her character work is lacking, largely because we don't quite understand who she's supposed to be. She's a war goddess, fire witch? I like the sound of those on paper but it needs to be pared down a bit for us to grasp the character.
