Interesting News On Which WWE NXT Superstars Are Being Groomed For Main Roster Call-Ups - WrestlingInc.com

Plans can always change but several top WWE NXT Superstars are in the current "Terry Taylor class" at the WWE Performance Center, which is the class that grooms talents who are being considered right now for "somewhat imminent" spots on WWE's main roster.

According to The Wrestling Observer, Superstars who are in the current class are TM-61, Hideo Itami, Kassius Ohno, Elias Samson, Tye Dillinger, Alexander Wolfe, Andrade "Cien" Almas, NXT Tag Team Champions Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa and NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.

The next group under the current class, which aren't considered to be somewhat imminent but are the ones who will be moved up to the next class when top talents are called up, are The Authors of Pain, Roderick Strong, Dan Matha, Blake, Murphy, The Revival, Riddikk Moss, Tino Sabbatelli, Aleister Black (Tommy End), Killian Dain (Big Damo) and Oney Lorcan.

Regarding a call-up for Bobby Roode, his deal is different and he doesn't train at the WWE Performance Center. The Observer adds that the same may go for Samoa Joe, Eric Young and Austin Aries, which means they wouldn't be in the classes.

Are Billie and Peyton supposed to be a low key lesbian couple? All this we will be women's champion talk. Nikki Cross plays that batshyt role to a T, Asuka gon kill them all tho.

DIY vs Revival was another stellar match. Their chemistry is amazing.

Intermission time at the NXT LIVE show.

205 LIVE match started the proceedings...I never thought I'd see Mascara Dorada live.

Next up was Mandy Rose versus Ember Moon. Mandy actually threw Ember up into the electric chair position, I was very impressed.

The real surprise so far - Heavy Machinery. For a couple of big guys nobody heard of, they worked and worked the crowd crazy well.

After that, we begged Elias Samson to drift away, but he beat Oney Lorcan first.

The match before intermission was for the Women's Championship - Peyton Royce challenged Asuka. Billie Kay may have tried to help as much as possible...but Asuka stood tall.

Still have Nakamura, DIY, Dillinger, Roode, etc. to wrestle.

1. Gran Metalik defated Noam Dar with the Metalik Driver. The former Mascara Dorada showcased a variety of acrobatic tricks, including his staple middle rope spin, and got the crowd warmed up rather quick. Noam Dar was deliberately drawing heat by milking holds, trying to slow down the pace to quiet the crowd. Ultimately, Gran Metalik proved too fast and resilient, delivering his signature driver for a victory in the opening proceedings. Smart way to get tour experience for the 205 LIVE guys.

2. Ember Moon defeated Mandy Rose with the Eclipse. Mandy fared much better, and looked far smoother, than she did in their TV match. She actually pulled off a transition to an electric chair that was simply unexpected and impressive. Of course, the real star was Ember, and she delivered in spades. Athleticism and charisma were full on display, and the crowd focus and volume were certainly there, as well. I'll be very surprised if she's not champ when the tour comes back to town again.

3. Authors of Pain defeated Heavy Machinery with The Last Chapter on Otis. The biggest surprise of my night was Heavy Machinery. I heard the buzz, but didn't expect to like them as much as I did. They worked a very fun hoss style, reminiscent of the Natural Disasters. Authors of Pain continue to put the pieces together and grow, inadvertently looking stronger without Ellering around, and continuing to convincingly steamroll the tag division. It was also fun to see AoP adapt to not having the size advantage.

4. Elias Samson defeated Oney Lorcan with a swinging neckbreaker. After a heat magnet of a segment with The Drifter singing about how the city sucked, Oney came out and told him he sucked, and they had a fun match. Lorcan played a great underdog in getting the crowd on his side, but Elias drifted away with a win, after (a stunning elbow drop and) a swinging neckbreaker. Fun little moment when The Drifter tried to sing on the apron, mid-match.

5. Asuka retained her Women's NXT Championship by putting Peyton Royce in the Asuka Lock. The women's champ gets the biggest pop yet - lots of "Asuka's gonna kill you!" chants - and delivers on the promises of the crowd. Great strikes permeate the match, which goes longer with the assistance of a meddling Billie Kay, but the Saucy Aussies can't avoid fate. After the first attempt is deterred, a second try at the Asuka Lock succeeds, and our Women's champ keeps her title.

-Intermission-

DIY cut a promo backstage that references the Kentucky Derby, Muhammad Ali, and Lamar Jackson.

6. #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) retain their NXT Tag Team Championships against Sanity (Alexander Wolfe & Killian Dain) with a knee/superkick combo to Wolfe. Coming out of the intermission, this one got everyone back to their seat. Sanity comes out in full force, covered, and as off kilter as ever. The champs emerge and immediately get the crowd's support, as expected. Tommaso and Johnny played off of Wolfe's nuttiness, worked together to take down the large Dain, and send spit flying across the ring. Amidst the chaos, Nikki Cross tries to interfere in broad daylight, getting emphatically sent to the back. After some intense near falls, the running knee/superkick combo gets the pin and the win.

Eric Young is disgusted, tells the rest of Sanity to go to find a monitor in the back, he'll show them how it's done. His opponent emerges...

7. Eric Young defeats Patrick Clark with the Youngblood. Patrick Clark needs a REAL gimmick badly.
Despite working the match compete babyface, he came out flamboyant and nonchalant...which makes it even more impressive he turned some of those booers into fans. Eric Young was nothing short of fantastic, getting the crowd involved and invested in his comeuppance...one that would never come. Just when the leader of Sanity seems like he bit off more than he can chew, the crew comes out to distract, enough to set up the finish. They pose over Clark, and now begins the main event.

8. Shinsuke Nakamura & Roderick Strong defeated Samoa Joe & Bobby Roode with a Kinshasa on Joe. The entrances delivered...Roderick was the odd man out as a relative unknown, but would eventually earn his share of cheers, as he held his own in the main event. Lots of fun back and forth with Roode and Nakamura. Strong knocked the spit out of Bobby's mouth and a good 30 feet into the audience. Joe worked great with his partner, but the opposition was too much. Hot tag to Naka, and a Kinshasa sends the crowd home happy.
