WWE NXT Dublin Live Event Results
6/14/16
Dublin, Ireland

Hugo Knox def Tye Dillinger. Huge pop for Dillinger, who tried to draw heat by insulting the Irish football team.

Andre ‘Cien’ Almas def Wesley Blake. Blake drew ‘Murphy’s better’ chants while the crowd warmed to Almas as the match wore on.

American Alpha def Sawyer Fulton and Alexander Wolfe with Grand Amplitude. One of the pops of the night for American Alpha who electrified the crowd throughout. Non-stop chanting for Alpha during the match. Afterwards, the Revival came out to tease a championship shot for Gable and Jordan before Alpha cleared them from the ring.

No Way Jose def Austin Aries after a brief dance-off that Aries quickly put an end to. Crowd split between both competitors.

Asuka def Peyton Royce to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Decent heel display by Peyton, but Asuka was in a class of her own.

Interval.

Shinsuke Nakamura def Bobby Roode with the Kinshasa. Great pop for Roode, but he quickly fell into the heel role as the crowd adored Nakamura.

Bayley and Carmella def Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax when Bayley hit Bayley-to-Belly on Nia. One of the pops of the night for Bayley, who received very inventive songs from an energised crowd. The four women put on a strong match.

Samoa Joe def Finn Bálor to retain the NXT Championship. The pop of the night for Balor with ‘Welcome home’ and ‘Thank you Bálor’ chants raining down as he approached the ring. Joe drew immense heat, pinning Ireland’s own to a chorus of boos after an excellent match.

Joe attempted to attack Balor after the match, but Balor got the upper hand and thanked a rapturous crowd to end the show. It’s clear that Dublin would be more than happy to welcome NXT back to the 3Arena, sooner rather than later!

Crowd responses of the night: Dillinger’s ’10!’, ‘Murphy’s Better!’, ‘Save the Gable!’, ‘Asuka’s gonna kill you!’, ‘Hey Bayley!’, ‘Ooh ah Carmella’, ‘Stand up if you love Bálor/Welcome home/Thank you Bálor’.

WWE NXT Womens Champion Asuka recently spoke with Japanese reporter Enuhito and below are some interview highlights:

On what she is learning at the WWE Performance Center:

“Coaches here are teaching me a lot of things I didn’t know in Japan. Basics to advance techniques. Some of it is similar to what I was doing in Japan but rhythm or timing is little different in the States, so how I mix Japanese and American techniques to my style is what I need to work on.”

On her relationship with Japanese stars in WWE:

“I am in the same promo class with Hideo [Itami]. We need to do promos in front of other superstars and coaches, but it always turns out to be like a comedy show. Shinsuke [Nakamura] took me out to the beach with other superstars. Shinsuke gives me advices after checking my matches.”

What doe she eat in the States?:

“Now a day, I only eat Japanese food here! I miss Japanese food! Not so many good Japanese restaurants in Orlando. It’s difficult to find authentic Japanese restaurant.”
