The cops didn't shut it down. Whoever owns the venue told them to. Any venue you book has to allot time to clearing the crowd and your people out. Usually an hour after whatever you're doing ends. It doesn't take an hour to get the crowd out of a decent sized venue, usually more like 30 minutes. Trust me, it's not a coincidence that smack had the venue until 8 and the "cops" shut it down at 8:30. This is what happens when people don't manage the time they borrowed from someone else.

Yeah they had an issue with venue management alright. It's called living on borrowed time for way too long. I couldn't imagine being the venue manager and trying to tell smack about the time and he's drunk and rambling 'namsayin to me. In the event business, anything that jumps from venue to venue like URL does is not professionally run. Its a telltale sign.
