That has nothing to do with the luxury of having building a defense around your corner.
That is unprecedented....and the PLAYERS, both retired and current, know that, I acknowledge it, while you don't.
Look at the last sentence and see who is out of touch here.
Revis can't make Eric Smith a good cover safety the same way Ware can't make Newman a good cover corner. Using overall numbers are dumb when ONE player doesn't impact the overall numbers in a sport called FOOTBALL.

the jets secondary is pretty bad outside of revis
take him off that defense and there dead last in the nfl in pass defense, plus u have take into consideration they have no pass rush what so ever and was one of the leagues worse teams in sacks and pass hurries.

yeah I'm watching steelers game where opponents have to account for both woodley and harrison
meanwhile Cam Wake gets double teamed on every single snap being the sole focus of the other team last year and still manages to have 2nd most combined sacks, hurries & QB hits
Harrison is arguable, but in a pass rushing perspective, Woodley is NOT better than Wake
we're really gonna ignore those kind of stats
or the fact that he's produced more pressure per pass rushing snap than any player since 2009 ?
its all opinion anyways...but I think they way they look at it is...Revis is far and away the best corner...which leap frogs him ahead of Demarcus Ware and JAred Allen because you could probably make a case for both being the best DE in football.

He's the best defender in the league. The distance between him and the guy next on the list is greater than the gap between 1 and 2 in all other positions in the league.
