Joe has better content. Unless you're getting paid tell me what was so entertaining about the Belly episode today. Today's Joe's podcast was hilarious.

That discussion w/ Belly had some gems in it, at a depth that Joe could never really touch on. They weren’t talkin about starlets and onlyfans

I listen to both shows, but I can’t deny that rory and mal really flipped the script on Joe. Akademiks really had you believing they were bums who couldn’t get it on their own. Now they’re quickly outpacing Joe.

Joe underestimated how many people genuinely enjoyed rory and mal :yeshrug: say what you want but their audience doesn’t seem to fukk w/ ice and Ish like that.

I like Rory and Mal but there were a lot of times on the JBP where I thought to myself, wtf are they even there for? Mal would be sitting on his phone barely contributing and Rory was basically only there to calm Joe down after he would throw a tantrum. They weren’t bringing things to discuss for a long time, weren’t listening to the music Joe wanted to review, weren’t opening up about topics Joe would bring and would give very surface level industry friendly responses to hot topics.

they are better now without Joe because they had to step up their contributions, but when they were on the Joe podcast they really didn’t show their worth a lot of the time. You could hear Joe’s frustration at times when it seemed like he was the only one really adding to the content of the show. But that could also be because Joe is an egomaniac and really has a dominant personality and a lot of times he would dominate conversations. But at some point it seemed like they were only showing up for the check and not recalling adding much by being there

That’s all I’m saying. Joe had to squeeze juice out of their stone faced approach to the show. If they’re doing ok now then that’s their problem

Let's not discount the impact of all the behind the scenes stuff going on with Joe and R&M.

Basically since the Spotify move they been beefing. It's no surprise that the show suffered because of it and they didn't put max effort

nikka you would be half assing it too if you think the nikka in charge is snaking you. The fact that they held the podcast together for so long with the issues they had is crazy. Joe would’ve got fukked up playing with me like that.

You can pin point the exact moment they stopped putting in effort. Right around the time of the spotify rants when joe was preaching ownership and power to creators, while being shady behind the scenes with rory and mal.

It's also worth considering that Rory did more behind the scenes for the podcast but Joe didn't want him involved behind the scenes. Ironically if Joe would have followed Rory's lead early on with the sponsors, Joe would have probably got the deal he wanted.
