The ratings are not that important... a b+ midrange shooter in 2k16 isnt gonna knock down jumpers in your face all day anyway.
I think they boosted him because he's gonna knock down the wide open ones he gets or if he gets rolling. Still with a B+ it's not like you'll be running plays or pick n fades looking for that shot for him.

KG averaged 3 points and 3 boards last year fam. He was finished two years ago. He one of my favorite players of all time though, but he is a 40 year old glorified assistant coach in 2016
