Bucks Preparing Offer For Anthony Davis?
January 29th, 2019 at 6:38pm CST • By Chris Crouse
The Lakers appear to be the favorite to land Anthony Davis, though it isn’t stopping other teams from pursuing the former No. 1 overall pick. The Bucks are entering the Davis-sweepstakes, according to longtime sports journalist Gery Woelfel (Twitter link).

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the only player who isn’t on the table in trade talks, Woelfel hears. Still, if the Pelicans are looking to rebuild post-AD, it’ll be difficult for Milwaukee to make a competitive offer.

The Bucks are unable to trade a first-round pick until the 2023 season at the earliest, as the Suns own their 2019 selection and the Cavs own their 2021 pick. Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middletoncan hit free agency this summer, which decreases their trade value, and after Milwaukee’s big three, there isn’t much on the roster to get overly excited about as a player headlining a trade package (apologies to President Malcolm Brogdon).

Milwaukee would provide Davis with a chance to win, as the team sits atop the Eastern Conference standings. The Giannis-AD pairing would certainly be among the most exciting in the league, though it feels like a pipedream for all the Wisconsin hopefuls.

Report: Raptors expected to make trade offer for Anthony Davis
Michael HoadJanuary 29, 2019, 10:11 AM
Pelicans superstar Anthony Davisspiced up NBA trade deadline rumours Monday when he requested a tradeout of New Orleans.

A generational talent like Davis rarely becomes available in trade, so the suitors are expected to be lining up to acquire his services. Early contenders to land the 25-year-old emerged late Monday night, with The Ringer‘s Kevin O’Connor reporting the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Toronto Raptors are expected to make offers. The Boston Celtics figure to be another major player in the sweepstakes, but they cannot pull off a trade until the summer, unless Kyrie Irving is also moved.

On paper, it seems like the Raptors have enough to put together a compelling package. Pascal Siakam, the emerging star who has a legitimate chance of winning the NBA’s Most Improved Player award, figures to be the starting point in negotiations. OG Anunoby is an additional young piece with intriguing potential, and point guard Delon Wright would be another name to float along. Draft-pick considerations would also likely be included as the Pelicans look to the future, and Toronto has veterans like Serge Ibaka and Jonas Valanciunas that would need to be added to balance salaries — a necessity in NBA trades.

Pairing Davis with Kawhi Leonard would give the Raptors one of the best one-two punches in the entire NBA, and would instantly make them the heavy favourite to win the Eastern Conference. If Leonard decides to sign elsewhere in free agency this summer, Davis remains under contract through 2019-20, keeping Toronto’s window of contention open for another year. In addition, should Davis make it clear he doesn’t intend to sign with the Raptors long-term, the team could hypothetically look to flip him at next year’s trade deadline.

The Raptors have never been as big a title threat as they are this season. They made a big gamble by trading DeMar DeRozan for Leonard last off-season, and it sounds like Masai Ujiri and the front office are at least thinking about pushing even more chips into the centre of the table.

The New Orleans Pelicans have made Nikola Mirotic, Julius Randle, and E’Twaun Moore available following Anthony Davis' trade demand.

The Pelicans are looking for draft picks in return, according to Zach Lowe.

Mirotic is a free agent this summer, Randle has a player option, and Moore is signed through the 2020 season.

Randle is basically an expiring anyway and they have no bird rights on him don't know how much they can get for him but anything is better than nothing.

Mirtoc has bird rights so he can be retained and moore ahh hes not really worth much of anything...

But if im the pelicans I blow the whole shyt up around Davis and let him sit out until the offseason and than look to move him unless some team is willing to be abused by a trade overpay to secure him now.

What are they going to do with his old ass? Didnt they just give Jusef a deal? Probably just a way to dump one of their bad contracts on Memphis but if they really wanted a big man that could help them they should be targeting mirotic.... But their GM is a known idiot so :francis:

I Legitimately dont see what they hope to accomplish with a Nurkic/Gasol center rotation when they are so weak at PF/SF...They should be one of the teams looking to acquire a 4 or upgrade their SF position.

Does anyone know if Harrison Barnes and Smith jr hve a trade market.
