Morning Report: Michael Bisping not set on fighting Yoel Romero, wants ‘biggest money fight possible’

“First and foremost, I am still UFC middleweight champion of the world,” Bisping said. “I have to defend that belt, simple as that. Dana actually- Dana White, UFC president- actually contacted me and spoke about a fight recently but I’ve been having a lot of issues with my knee so I’ve got to have a knee surgery. Maybe around end of April, May something like that, I’ll take a fight.”

Previously there had been some discussion of Bisping facing Romero at the upcoming UFC 208, and though that date obviously fell through, the general assumption was that Romero was still next on deck for the champion. After all, Romero is a former Olympic silver medalist wrestler that’s currently on an eight-fight win streak in the UFC’s middleweight division with three victories over top contenders. But Bisping says that may not be the case. After having his potential fight with Romero delayed, now Bisping says he wants this biggest money fight he can get, and if that’s Romero, great. But if it’s not, he wants whoever is going to bring him the biggest box office numbers.

“I want the biggest fight I can get. I don’t mind facing No. 1 contenders but at this stage of my career I’ve fought the best guys forever. I want the biggest fight it can possibly be. By biggest, I mean the biggest money generating fight I can possibly have. I feel I deserve that. I’ve earned that. So whether that’s Yoel Romero, then great. But if it ain’t Yoel Romero, if it’s Anderson Silva, great. I know he’s piped up again lately. If it’s GSP [Georges St-Pierre]- I don’t care who the opponent is. I’m not bothered by any opponent. I am the champion of the world and I will take on all comers, but I want the biggest fight possible.”

I want Woodley to fight him but his fight is in spring too. Not too sure who he can fight everyone is tied up except Luke and no one wants to see a rematch for that now.

No Woodley fight. Both fighters should be defending their belts. Woodley/Bisping doesn't make any sense to me, there's multiple worthy contenders in both their divisions.

The LHW division used to be my favorite, but it's gotten so stagnate with constant DC injuries, Jones fukk ups, and the whole division being cleaned out by Johnson.

I feel like someone is bound to get injured or DC might have another knee injury. LHW is completely ruined anyways. Johnson KO everyone in their but DC and Jones.

My favorite divisions basically turn to shyt. LHW, MW, WW, FW and LW... Stupid long lay overs for title fights, "Money" fights, and no new talent insurgence. AND ALL THESE INTERIM TITLE FIGHTS...

Nick Diaz on his return:
"Right now, I'm trying to fix my situation," Diaz said. "If someone offered me a fight right now, it's not going to happen. I'm not going to say (yes). I'm like, 'no.'

"I'm going to work my way into the right situation and once I'm there then we can talk about a fight."

So Bisping fights the oldest man in the ufc for his first title defence...doesn't even finish him... and now wants a money fight.

fukk out of here. Defend against a top contender.:camby:
it's not even that, Henderson knocked him down x2, if he had enough poise and accuracy he could have finished the fight good g&p. He somehow looked worse against Silva and hendo than he did when he won the belt :mindblown:

AJ McKee is gonna KO'd once he faces higher comp, dude leaves his chin way too high in the air and straight. He has some nice athletic gifts but he has a lot of technical flaws.
