If they're trying to sell Weidman like he's this likeable every man how they seem, then they really need to stop asking Longo questions at this point. Thing is Anderson is still head and shoulders above just about everyone in the division so it's not like it'd take long to "work his way back up" if he does continue fighting. Anderson isn't a battle weathered 38 year old who's taken a bunch of savage beatings or brutal KO's who should be medically retired like Longo would make u think he is.

Hopefully Vitor smashes him even though I'd rather it be machida who gets him

Well we know partially the reason why GSP decided to take a break

http://www.cp24.com/sports/ufc-news...s-drug-testing-influenced-his-break-1.1639198

MONTREAL -- Mixed martial arts star Georges St-Pierre says the Ultimate Fighting Championship's hesitant position when it came to stiffer drug testing greatly influenced his decision to take a break from the octagon.St-Pierre said Tuesday a lack of strenuous drug testing was one of the factors that led to his decision to step away from the sport.

"It bothered me greatly, it was one of the reasons I decided to step aside," St-Pierre said Tuesday. He vacated his welterweight title and took a hiatus from the sport in December, citing a need to lead a normal life and deal with mental fatigue. The 32-year-old confirmed when asked by a reporter that his employer, the UFC, did not support him when he proposed drug testing in the weeks preceding his Nov. 16 fight against Johnny Hendricks.

St-Pierre stepped away following UFC 167 where he won a controversial split decision over Hendricks. After that fight, he said he needed time away to sort out some personal issues.

The star fighter was prudent in his comments Tuesday, being careful not to point fingers at any one person or fighter. He stressed he wasn't accusing anyone of steroid abuse.St-Pierre said he wanted to bring the sport he loves to "another level" of testing and help those who are honest in the sport.

"I tried to change things, and unfortunately, maybe for money reasons, maybe for image, they were not ready to do that," St-Pierre said. "I tried to (bring about) change in a very diplomatic way and it didn't work so it's unfortunate, but I believe it will happen sooner or later."

The former welterweight champion said he hasn't made a decision to retire and added he's in top physical condition and still trains regularly. While he has remained vague about a comeback, St-Pierre says the break has made him a better fighter because he's not feeling any external pressure. He repeated he hasn't set any timetable to make a decision regarding his UFC future.

St-Pierre said implementing drug testing is not a condition for any potential return to the sport. He added he could understand the reticence from the organization -- a failed drug test could dramatically change a card and result in people losing money.St-Pierre was in Montreal handing out bursaries for athletic excellence.

"I feel very good, I feel very happy," St-Pierre said, appreciating a holiday season with his family and being able to have a few drinks.

a lot of ppl on sherdog and mma forum have their opinion on this but i find it particularly weird that the nsac chose to not participate in the tests almost like they knew where their bread was buttered and didnt want to out the most financially viable commodity (mma has) as a roid cheat

Call me crazy but I think Yoel Romero would destroy Weidman. He beat Cael Sanderson three times in wrestling :damn: and all his mma wins are by KO. His one loss was against Feijao back in strike force in which he had a neck injury.

Only one thing, he's 36 :patrice:

You're really crazy breh :heh: Romero's best win is Ronny Markes and, he got brutally KO'd by the only good fighter he's faced (Feijao). We'll have a better idea of where he stand in the division when he actually faces/beats a ranked opponent.

Link on the neck injury? Never heard that before.

And that's 36 in Cuban years which is really like 45.

But Yoel is the truth. He's been one of my favorite fighters since pre-strikeforce. I've been championing the guy for years and years. I really think the UFC likes him as well and will fast track him if he gets an impressive win today. I think he may crack the top ten soon.

He'll be a great fight for anyone in the whole division. He's the truth. His only problem is sometimes he dikks around during fights and leaves his hands down. He also doesn't follow much of a plan in his fights, he doesn't have a really good corner. He also doesn't pressure when he needs to at times. He's content to ride out a fight that's close or even if he's losing. Probably a habit left over from wrestling where it's normal to ride out the clock.

He's a nice guy but his crew is Yoel, Hector Lombard, Jorge Masvidal, and Alexis Villa. Bunch of crazy cubans all training out of ATT. They do some crazy shyt down there.

Silva, there were roids in his crib in a old video but that quickly got swept under the rug.......

It aint just him they are protecting 90% of the sport is cheating, they actually lightweight legalize cheating as long as you keep certain levels in some states.....

I can't be mad at GSP:manny:

gsp of course dude is/was the biggest draw after all.The whole thing just seems murky i mean why exactly would he feel hurt about ufc not inserting themselves if he wasnt a roider. Its like he was playing a game of double dare hoping the ufc (who know hes roiding) would step in to save him..

GSP has passed every drug test and recently completed VADA. Any PED talk is 100% speculation and baseless.

nevada is ufc go to spot, when they stroll into town the money is ridicolous. We already witnessed the power zuffa wield when dana threatened he wasnt going to bring fights there anymore. You really think they are going to rock the apple cart by outing the bonifide number 1 draw? hell gsp mostly fought in canada anyway so you can read into that what u may
