Vera is not a better striker or fighter at this point. He was tagged repeatedly by molasses slow Rothwell right hands, walked into uppercuts and realistically lost to Marshall. He hasn't come close to looking presentable in literally 4 years.

Cane is not a good striker period. He literally must have contralateral neglect because anyone who fights him in the southpaw stance absolutely kills him. I've never seen anything like it.

Pokrajc is about equal to Newton in the standup and more predictable. He's not finishing him, Newton has a chin and decent enough footwork.

Vera is not a better striker than Newton? I stopped reading. And he clearly beat Marshall 2 rounds to 1.

You seriously believe that the current Rampage would beat GSP?

You seriously believe GSP would hold Rampage down in mount and pound on him? The strength difference would be astronomical. As washed up as he is he escaped Jones' mount and overpowered Bader. Georges would look awful if he were to make any attempt to compensate for the size difference and he would be at a huge disadvantage in any grappling exchange at his ideal fighting weight with his relatively tiny frame. Jackson handled Jones fairly competently in the clinch (Jones even struggled with him at times) yet you see him having no chance against a much smaller Jones. Your opinion is basically :trash: if you really think giving up 50 lbs won't make a difference to a guy used to fighting well under 200 lbs. Giving up weight in the lighter weight classes makes a very big difference. It's the very reason Georges didn't want to fight Anderson. He would have to try to jab him all night and he's not really known for leg kicks.

No not really. They're both just above average at this point. Vera's defense is seriously awful. You believe JDS is a "way better striker" than Cain :bryan: so you shouldn't talk.

Anyway, call it a cop out but I'm really bored of this conversation. We're evaluating Emanuel fukking Newton as a fighter, it doesn't get more pointless than that. We disagree :yeshrug: let's just accept that and stop :deadhorse:.

Overall striking, Vera is better than Newton, no further argument needed. Most people share the same sentiments. Vera's striking has never looked as terrible as Newton's god-awful striking performance yesterday.

alright....just watched Chandler/Alvarez 2. Not as good as they're 1st fight but this was one was more brutal and bloodier.

I aint mad Eddie won.....it honestly could've went either way. Chandler had his hands low most of the fight and was getting picked apart alot.

That combination Eddie threw in the 3rd that had Micheal staggering was a thing of beauty

GSP is a much much better fighter than the current Rampage. The only advantage that Page has is size (strength/power), but he's slow as hell. GSP is [much much] faster, much better cardio, a better striker, and a better overall grappler. GSP was 192 lbs on fight night during the Shields fight, if he were to fight Rampage, he would come in at least 195 lbs. Let's say he bulks up a bit and comes in at 195-200 lbs and Rampage at most will be 225 lbs [Page is a small-medium sized LHW] on fight night. That's around a 25-30 lb differential. Rampage's only hope is a puncher's chance and considering he's ultra slow and hasn't TKO'd someone in 5 years, that chance is small. GSP out-strikes him and avoids Rampage's super slow and predictable striking. You have to remember that this is Rampage we're talking about, he will come in out of shape and will gas within two rounds, from there, GSP cruises to a victory.

How is Rampage going to beat GSP? Minus his puncher's chance. He's not going to out-strike him and he's not going to mix in TDs, so out-grappling him is out of the equation. Plus, he will likely gas pretty early in the fight.

This pretty much comes down to: will Rampage KO GSP? Because he's not getting the decision.

According to Dave Meltzer, Saturday's 106 event did an average of 1.1 million viewers over the three hour and 45 minute show. This was the best audience ever for a Bellator event.
