Idk why MMA fans are proponents of the same things that hurt boxing.
I honestly don't think this would hurt UFC/MMA. Every 10 pounds is perfectly fine up to 185 because then you're either a heavyweaight or skinny heavyweight (205). There may be a bit of reshuffling at 155 but this works for me.
The only problem is Conor being involved right off rip.
Maybe this will be Colby's last chance at a belt. Lol

People are already complaining about seeing Leon vs. Belal for the title, and we just had Strickland vs. DDP for the MW title. The quality of champions from LW to MW is going to get a lot worse if this happens.
If this is even happening, I agree it’s just a ploy to get Conor to be the first “3 division” champion.
Let them complain, those are the guys at the top and on streaks. Shav is right around the corner anyway.
How would the quality of 185 be effected by this move? Who would leave 185? Khamzat? Costa, Killa Gorilla and Marvin, etc can't go down. And whoever would have gone up to 185 would have already went up.
