Indeed. It's likely due to a combination of Trump being involved in MMA for so long(he was a major shareholder in the Affliction promotion) and the long standing right wing bias in martial arts schools. The facade of manliness plays into it as well.

There are plenty of big names in boxing that support him as well. Mayweather is a supporter. Mike Tyson was a speaker at the 2016 Republican National Convention where Trump accepted the party's nomination.
