Coker has completely fukked Bellator up, you would think a completely different person was responsible for Strikeforce.

I loved Rampage's first Bellator run as a fan of his, but I think it set a terrible precedent for the company. Even if he's one of the biggest names in the sport, you have the guy coming off of 3 straight UFC losses going in and winning your GP which makes Bellator look absolutely bush league (didn't hurt PRIDE when the same thing happened with Coleman though :pachaha:). Then you have Tito coming in after winning just 1 of his last 9 fights and subbing your 50W-7L MW champion in the first round.

Those were both Bjorn's fault, but Coker definitely kept the ball rolling by keeping guys that were way too out of shape to be in a major promotion let alone headlining cards. Idk if it was pressure from the network since those UFC vet/old man fights did solid ratings, but it definitely came at the expense of the promotion's reputation.

Tbf the one old man fight I want to see is Fedor vs. Shogun in the UFC. Solely because having him fight any young/top HW or blown up LHW shouldn't even be sanctioned and because of what it would mean symbolically having Fedor fight there even just once as a send-off :wow:. Wouldn't have high expectations but it's still the thought.

Wonderboy's thoughts on PRIDE's ruleset vs. UFC's & 12 to 6 elbows.

"UFC ruleset is definitely better. I haven't fought in pride, but I've seen countless fights where serious injuries occur because of kicks to downed opponents.

Downed opponents cannot effectively defend themselves. Kneeing or kicking them will definitely KO them, but additionally causes severe brain trauma.

Kicks are about twice as devastating as punches, and I can attest to that. Elbows are nasty, but nowhere close to a flying knee. It is inherently safer. Pride rules have to be changed. Me and my buddy Chris Weidman are actually campaigning for that.

"A fighter is an entertainer, but shouldn't do so at the cost of his health. The UFC at least understands that and is better. I always follow the rules in my fights. Safety first."

I think they should definitely be banned. The reason is that you can generate significantly more force than a regular elbow to a downed opponent.

All karate performers use the 12–6 elbow when breaking larger ice blocks or massive blocks of concrete. The same reason- you can generate way more power.

The human skull may be stronger than cocnrete, but it's not worth the risk of finding out in a UFC fight.

I was talking to Herb and Big John the other day, and they said some panel member apparently saw that Ice shattering move and decided it's too dangerous for mma.
