I'm going full stan and pinning this loss on him not taking Asakura seriously enough and/or it was a set up which is why the belt wasn't on the line...none of this is true, but if there can be a "Stipe tapped" conspiracy then "Horiguchi took a dive" has a chance to pick up steam.

Nah, it's a meme from the Overeem fight when he got stuck in that guillotine for a second. People were really trying to come at Stipe like he meant to tap but the ref missed it to the point that it became a running joke around the MMA twitter community.
