Doesn't negate the fact that it was tight enough for a rematch :manny:

And aside from DC, there aren't a lot of compelling matchups in the division. If he was taking it easy then that's his fault.

I'd love to see him masterfully pull a Gustaffson 2 on Santos in a rematch, but if he was playing with his food then all it got him is a press conference that he had to show up to in a wheelchair and a possible rematch for a fight he could have easily put away and closed the door on. Similar to how he had to face Gustaffson again because he was partying too much before the first fight and ended up in the hospital after.

If he was playing it safe and playing with his food then maybe breh should stop playing :gucci:
Man that dont earn you a rematch against the undisputed GOAT imo, next in line! If the division is really that trash then the ball will come back around to Santos anyway :yeshrug:

Next in line! He almost got a point decision, good for him. But he didnt actually hurt Jones or have him in trouble at any point, a rematch would generate no hype whatsoever

No one besides Jonny Walker in due time is going to generate any hype. I didn't say they're going to run it back immediately or that they should, but you're tripping if you don't think the only person to ever beat Jones on a scorecard isn't right back to the top of the pile after healing up and looking impressive in a return bout. Especially if it's this time next year and no other challengers emerge.

No matter what was going on in Jones' head, almost losing the strap to a dude missing an entire knee raises enough questions to warrant them running it back once he's healthy again.

His performance against Volkan was lowkey disappointing but I still think Dom Reyes is a good challenger, I got Reyes ahead of Walker based on the quality of opposition so far.

Nothing but balls, heart, and desire. fukk what Dana talking about. That man deserves a rematch or title shot whenever he heals up, rehabs and gets a tune-up fight in.

And if they're smart they'll document his comeback trail and position him as a much-needed star in the division.
I rewatched that fight and it was a clear 48-47 win for Jon Jones IMO. Nothing against Santos cause he had a good effort but I feel like alot of this rematch talk is due to the fact people just hate Jon Jones and they tried this shyt with Gus before.

Speaking of which I randomly ran into Jon Jones today at my work today. He was limping still so his December wish for his next fight might be a stretch.

So they might as well set up Reyes/Walker #1 contender fight later this year . Let JJ rest up and have the winner face JJ :yeshrug:

I gave it to Reyes 2-1 but I can see the argument either way, Dan Hardy's commentary on that fight was some bullshyt tho. Dude was acting like Volkan was running thru him when that was hardly the case.

And thats why I only like Hardy's commentary on UK cards.

He only follows european mma closely and shows his bias towards them every damn time
