Cejudo's boxing has improved immensely, he caught TJ with some great shots and I don't think the stoppage was bad. Henry had 4 1/2 minutes to continue to rain down punishment, TJ was not gonna withstand that nor outwrestle him. I don't think the outcome is any different at BW.

I don't believe Hardy intentionally threw that knee and IMO, one knee on the ground shouldn't count as a downed opponent. Won't matter tho and Dana may cut him.

Paige seems to be the same fighter she was before, didn't see any vast improvements.

Good win for Texiera after taking all that punishment.

Guess Cowboy just got himself a fight with Conor.

Weidmans issue is his chin. I was rewatching Weidman vs Jacare the other night and I was honestly impressed at how far Weidmans standup has came. Maybe @ 205 his conditioning and chin will be better :yeshrug:

Dude is delusional.

He wanted that fight against Whitaker AFTER taking the L.

Now he's taken an L and wants the (potential) GOAT?

Makes very little sense..
From his point of view he sees guys like Rockhold talking about it and Dan saying “I like that”

He sees guys like Anthony Smith and Dominick Reyes getting shots... Weidman is more skilled than those guys.

If he’s not gonna retire than going up is the only choice

205 is very thin, I can see rockhold or weidman getting a title shot at 205 this year.
It is thin, this is true.

Still: Weidman got slept 3x in MSG I think.. this would be a potential career ending loss, because he can't hang with Jon Jones if Jones is feeling it..
Rockhold: I'd like to see him FIGHT first of all, I don't even want to think about title shots.. let's see him actually perform. Got slept 2x now.. cocky af, but cockiness doesn't stop you from getting knocked out.

I see your point. You basically have to ask for what you want in the UFC and say what you want.

That said: Anthony Smith is LESS skilled than Weidman (the Weidman we see today)?

If jones doesn’t fight Cormier this year what realistic fights does he have? Jones and Cormier cleaned out 205 big time

Weidmans standup looks really good right now I think. Until he gets tired or hurt

Obviously hes still an elite grappler. What skill would you say Smith is clearly superior at? I think he’s just tougher

I also thought he looked great against Jacare and at one point thought he'd have this in the bag. He's in great shape, didn't tire out and hits hard and of course has lots of skills.

Anthony, as corny as this sounds, where Weidman (nowadays) leaves things up in the air Anthony - being a young fighter - forces the things to turn to his favor. He seems faster, more aggressive walking forward, he seems more confident also (Weidman had high highs but some deep lows e.g. vs Rockhold) and in general seems more comfortable in the Octagon. Of course, if he walks into a good Jon Jones he'll also be impacted, losing is not fun ever.

But it's crucial of course! It would be some story if Weidman actually gets a shot in 2019, some comeback story. Sometimes with Weidman, as much as he wouldn't want this, I wonder if he wouldn't benefit for at least working with additional teams. No offense to his team, they're great - but the results speak for themselves in MSG at least - perhaps an outside perspective (e.g. Henry Hooft) could help..

Or you think it's too late in his career? Overeem did this.

There is no scenario where they don't fight again right? I mean we should be 'shocked' when they announce this as the last big fight of the year during Fight Week's press conference or something - but who would genuinely be surprised. This would be DC's biggest pay day probably (the Lesnar hype has waned it seems)

What about a fight with Gustafsson..? If he wins that, since the division is so damn thin, it could make sense the title fight
