She walked in and I reconized her from the UFC broadcast and when she asked me how my day was I just responded with "It is, what it is

She laughed and caught the reference and she asked how I know that saying and I just said "some UFC fighter named Max always said it" and right at that moment Max walks in with his son and his mom starts showing off her son like a proud mom because some random worker knew her son

I dapped up max and mention I was Samoan and how he reppin us right and this fool thought I was false flaggin my race until I started speaking the language and he said "alright you legit, everyone wanna be a fake islander now" and then we embraced like Islanders usually do
But we chopped it up about mma and life. Guess he was there for his sons birthday

It kinda goes deep, short version. I look more of my Italian side than Islander
Long version
In the US other races get the tribal tatts and start speaking islander slang but they don't know the culture . That's where some get upset that they just trying to be posing for the gram and shyt. My best friend since I lived in the US is Mexican but has been around my family for functions so he truly knows how us Islanders are. All the traditionalist ask for is to learn abit of the culture for us to embrace y'all
I lived overseas in New Zealand and the Samoans over there are hella different than the ones in the US. They are usually raised in the traditional Samoan way and are judgemental about shyt. Hell, some of my uncle's never truely embraced me being Samoan for the longest time being half until I learned the language and shyt.
I feel like im rambling on this history lesson but I didn't feel just right just saying "I don't really look islander".
