Please don't compare UFC to WWE, UFC can still produce nights like UFC in NY 2 even in one of its most dullest years. WWE can never produce anything to the level of even the ruthless aggression era let alone attitude and 80s
True but look at the star power of both companies right now

^There is so much hype surrounding that guy with everyone saying he's got next it wouldn't surprise me if he shyts the bed. It's very rare things go according to plan in MMA

Despite Dana's steadfast view on female mma he eventually yielded and long story short the world was introduced to RR. Dana had never even heard of McGregor, the fans were the ones hounding him to sign him and we saw what has happened the last 2 years. I say that to say the last time UFC created a star was Jones, the 2 examples I just mentioned were them joining the party late to what was already brewing. There is no real obstacle standing in the way of more stars emerging by happenstance.

In the WWE however we will never see another austin, rock or Hogan because there has been structural changes across the board. From the wresting, to the feuds, to the booking to the promos. Such inventive seminal moments like the double turn at WM with bret/SC (which cemented Austin as a maineventer) wouldn't happen today. For one because blood has been outlawed, if one wrestlers signature move is the sharpshooter another can't use it. Is the booking capable of a double turn and would the fans even realize what they are witnessing? It's just a structural mess beyond repair

He should be marketed heavily if he wins
Dana has been singing his praises just based on a guy crush. He was at the body armor drink endorsement launch, introduced as "the future HW champion" :snoop:. And has a rising stars special on fight pass. And this is all based off nothing, we really haven't seen his full arsenal or how he handles adversity. What his TDD is like e.t.c Biggest W to date is vs a shot AA..

So if he's getting this much burn just on potential when he's a champ I doubt they will go that extra step. I mean what more can they do outside of showing him kissing babies and tying his name to a moving plane

Didn't know all that that's interesting... yes he hasn't been tested but who doesn't love a big guys that looks the part. Hopefully he can act the part too...

Side note: very curious to see if Aldo has anything up his sleeves to stop Max's confidence and gas tank.

Thanks for your time in the sport Overeem, unfortunately it seems that you're going to be getting forcibly retired shortly

Reem is going to outclass him easily. Ngannou has never faced anybody with his technical skills and athleticism, his biggest challenge so far has been a washed up Arlovski. He’s not ready for a guy like Overeem yet.

I feel like with the UFC theres nobody on the roster with that much personality to be a star unless they go on a streak
They usually try to ride hype until the hype runs out then they toss that fighter like trash
I mean guys like sage northcutt and Kevin lee were built to be stars but once they lost people lost intrest
Heck even with Joanna losing the belt I think it kinda put a dent in her popularity too
Thats why I feel pride and strikeforce was great for the UFC because they were able to get alot established fighters from those promotions

I agree with everything you said about the WWE as well

I'll be an interesting fight with Francis and Reem

I'll be the first fight where Francis with legit comp and may be schooled but Reem chin is so weak. Ben Rothwell stopped dude with strikes

Unless the opponent has a even worse chin(Arlovski) the only thing interesting about Overeem fights is whether he’ll get KO’d or manage to survive.

He has more overall skills and tools than any other heavyweight, so that’s never the question. Hes basically a bigger Jon Jones with KO power but no chin.
