Yeah I thought the way Dana kept acting like this was some kind of co promotion (and he was there for ufc) seemed forced. "I am the only one that can make an offer" week's later it's reported Lorenzo was the one that made the deal happen :rudy:

Wish they would just admit he's just going as conor'entourage/cheerleader and to get as much free press for himself as possible

Pretty sure I've heard him say that he's not worried about brain damage too...old school gladiator mentality.
It's not even gladiator mentality he just sounds like an idiot. I am guessing he has no family. I had never heard him actually speak till the big summer press conference with micheal Johnson and I thought he was partially retarded. His reaction a lot of the time just looked like he had aspergers. Like when Johnson said "I plan to take this man's life"

Surprised they are still pulling these kind of shenanigans, this is an emotional response and these new owners have proved in almost a year that they are clearly aloof about the ufc/mma business. Looks like ole Dana still has some pull
:heh: I really wanna know what the beef is. What did Ariel do recently or is this just the grudge

He handed Dana a personal L when Dana banished him for that Brock shyt then whined like a bytch and Dana had to give him his credentials back. Somebody with Dana's ego will never forgive that, plus he feels like he made Ariel.
Has nothing to do with WME or UFC.

When he has guests on the final fight on their contract and he's forcing them to test the market to see their worth and when they do he celebrates it. Or when he uses mma hour to deride the ufcs decision on certain match choices, business practices or ppv performance I guess (given his audience) they know he sways minds and that can hurt their bottom line.

But now he's pushing 50, 340mill in the bank and UFC has become less ma and pa & more coporate I thought he had become more passive. I men look at all alquinta ffs no way he wouldn't have cut him in zuffa years but now he's calling him a maniac

From the history I know of Ariel he's hard working and comes from a great journalism school. Kevin Iole put Ariel on UFC's radar and then from there Ariel got in with the UFC. Dana used to give him crap but also gave him great advice. Dana did push Ariel to where he is today coupled with Ariel's mindfulness of not being a UFC puppet which I respect. The only thing I know is UFC has been anti media. Possibly till now Ariel is the biggest MMA journalist and he's got the biggest target because I guess in Dana's mind he's the habitual line stepper? :manny: so that makes me wonder would Ariel still be covering UFC events if Dana truly had his way?

I don't mind Ariel advocating for more pay for the fighters. Test the market etc... UFC hasn't had the best policies when it comes to treating their fighters fairly... it's kinda the whole backlash with Haymon in the boxing world how he's paying hand over fist for fighters and people don't think he can sustain the formula. UFC needs to increase their pay and health awareness/insurance for the fighters and give them tools to equip themselves after a career of fighting. If they wanna pioneer the sport they need to do these things... :manny: they slowly are and Rome wasn't built in a day. So idk if that's Ariel's way of getting back at Dana by telling fighters to test the market or if he cares which I do think he does care about the fighters or a combination of both.
