Just watched Joanna/Gadelha, Claudia won that fight She took round 2 and definitely won round 3 decisively. Had Joanna thanking the judges for the W and saying Claudia is #1 in the post-fight interview

I dunno...I kinda feel like Joanna *just* won the first two rounds. First round ended with her almost knocking Claudia the-f out. In the second...Claudia didn't really do much of anything with her take downs. No big attempts, just basic control until Joanna was able to get back up (In which Joanna started to easily tag her in the stand up). I guess I could see it as a toss-up, but don't think this was an outrageous decision.

Looking at the youtube comments, it seems like others were having pretty much the exact same discussion.

I'm fine with a five round rematch to truly decide who should have the title.

Why do people always bytch about wrestling and stalling but then claim Claudia one this fight. Claudia really didn't do shyt that whole fight. She got a few TDs but landed no offense. She mainly held JJ against the fence. JJ out struck her and almost finished her

If aldo beats Edgar at 200 and Connor relinquishes what fight is left to make that needs to happen nobody gives a shyt about Edgar and aldo has cleaned house

I like the up and comers in that division but they've been mostly held off from fighting true top dogs. Feels like forever since Holloway crushed Cub Swanson and he still hasn't gotten a top five opponent (barring the Conor fight 3 years ago when neither was highly ranked). Thomas Almeida and Cody Garbrandt are both pretty exciting prospects as well, but only one of 'em will have a shot at a top dog in the next year or so since they're fighting each other next. I think between those three and Oliveira; there could be compelling match-ups for the guys Aldo/Conor knocked off with potential for these new faces to jump into the contention picture. Max should get the title shot next if Conor relinquishes and I'd love to see the winner of Almeida/Cody take the loser of Aldo/Franky. Oliveira had the freak injury against Max, but maybe that sets up a nice match-up with Chad Mendes since it gives both guys a shot to jump back into the mix with a win and my scenario knocks off the other popular names of the division.

Holloway is absolutely ready. The Franky lay and pray might work, but he ain't standing with Holloway and if Holloway can use his length to keep the take downs limited he can win that fight.
