No Dillashaw v Cruz talk? I thought TJ took the championship rounds and each of the first three was debatable. Since he had the belt, I'm a bit surprised Cruz got it since he never really threatened TJ (neither guy really did).

I think the take downs was what won Cruz the match

Absolutely, and I think takedowns are where it's toughest to score. Cruz didn't do much damage with the majority of the takedowns and Dillashaw was able to scramble up pretty quickly, so I wasn't scoring the TD's as much as the judges probably were (definitely the 4-1 judge for Cruz). I think that combo of takedowns and Dillashaw visibly swinging and missing was what sold it for Cruz, but imo in terms of doing damage and pressure, I prolly would have edged it to TJ with him taking the 1st, 4th and 5th.

I got Cruz winning the first 3. Did Cruz hold him down and do damage when he took him down no but for him to take down Dillashaw repeatedly you still would have to give him some credit. TJ did well with octagon pressure but that might have played right into Cruz's hand. I feel like TJ should have been doing leg kicks out the gate. I also believe Cruz wasn't injured by TJ's kicks but the same way Overeem attacked Lesnar's organs when he came back from being sick. I would have TJ trained on his inner Aldo or do some oblique kicks. It was TJ's fight to lose and he lost it. To me he didn't have the iq or show the offensive fight tactics to beat Cruz but Cruz exploited him

Cruz responds to potential Mighty Mouse superfight
January 19, 2016 8:05 am UFC NEWS MMA News

Following his ‘UFC Fight Night: Boston’ win over TJ Dillashaw, a lot of doors opened for newly crowned bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz.

Cruz could have a rematch with former champion TJ Dillashaw, accept Urijah Faber’s callout, or even accept a superfight with flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson, whose coach called Cruz out on Facebook.

Cruz responded to the callout from Johnson’s coach on Fox Sports 1, which was transcribed byMMAFighting:

“D.J. is a beast. I think D.J. would run circles around T.J. and Urijah. But I think that I could put it on D.J., too, again. Just like I did last time.”

“I shut D.J. out last time. I made his face look like he had a pile of cheese in the cheek. I gave him a good knee to the face that rocked him. I beat him striking because of the knee and I was able to outwrestle him.”

How do you see a rematch between Cruz and Johnson playing out? Sound off below.
