A DC matchup would be interesting but no, I don't want to see Fedor debut against Cain or JDS after a long layoff though:mjcry:

Why not?! It will be a fun fight for sure win or lose. Fedor can definitely win. There's noone in MMA with Fedor's skillset so we don't know how they will handle Fedor.

Definitely a tomato can. What relevant HW isn't with the UFC? Bellator/Scott Coker is tricky though. He'll pull some ninja shyt and get Rampage to fight Fedor or maybe get Randy out of retirement to do it. Maybe he can get Kongo. I can't think of any HW or LHW available.
Rampage isn't there anymore

And I don't want Fedor anywhere near those guys you mentioned not right off. We don't even know if Fedor has stamina

LOL. No matter what, there's somethign to bytch about. I get it. Maybe I'm biased but Mir and the other no names in HW aren't a good fit for Fedor to fight. It's a waste of a legend's limited fighting time. Mir looked like hot garbage to me. I'm a Mir fan too but his last fight was gross. Anyways, Fedor is a legend and deserves at least an interesting fight.

This conversation is for nothing because it looks like he won't be fighting in the UFC in the foreseeable future and Fedor doesn't have much time left to fight being 38 years old.
:russ: at the superior snotty attitude that's innate amongst fedor fans. I remember this sentiment when Brett Rogers demanded a rematch. Peeps were like "rematch, you should be so lucky to have had the privilege of sharing the same octagon with him" it's like come on. An extended streak should never be sniffed at but it was in matchfixing central (japan) and HWs is renowned for being the least skilled and most shakiest division bare non

Cool article from ESPN Brasil with Vitor. As always he drops some insights in only the way he can, I translated some of the more interesting parts.

Os sonhos de Belfort: salário para lutadores, liga das lendas e volta do peso absoluto - ESPN.com.br

"All sports pay to train and compete. Why not MMA? Now our sponsors are gone. They took my sponsors, now who is going to pay my bills monthly. I have to earn money monthly. I have businesses, a family, investments, and I need to have a monthly salary"

That's a legitimate point, guys without a direct Reebok sponsorship are getting screwed, and Vitor had a ton of high level sponsors. I wouldn't be surprised if he made more from sponsors then fighting.

"I was talking about creating a league of legends for guys 40 or 50. Maybe 35 to 45 and 45 to 55, why not? We have a lot of athletes that aren't finished. You can't let other people determine when you're finished. You know when you're done.

:flabbynsick:

"I don't like this thing of 10 pounds or 20 pounds. I come from a different race, a different pattern. I fought Anthony Johnson at 205 and I hit weight. My mind was ready for competition. I'm in favor of an open weight. Let's see it, that's how it was from the beginning."

Would never happen, but an open weight division would be entertaining :ehh:

Basically Vitor just wants $$$ in any form and in any way, and doesn't give a damn about weight classes, freak shows, bloodmatches, old men dying in the ring or fighters retiring and barely able to speak proper english. Just give em money.

Someone tell Vitor in NBA when season is over atheletes are not paid, also in nfl during the season the players are only paid game cheques, not practice cheques. Half these nba guys be playing in drew league for nothing in offseason. Maybe with all his years in MMA and business he could start up a solid brazillian mma company to counter the ufc.

I fully agree, ppl are acting like Fedor is the 2nd coming. His time has come and gone, hes just an old past his prime old scrub now trying to get some pension money. He shouldn't have been so greedy and jumped to UFC the many chances he did and have that mega fight with Brock or Couture and then he could've cashed out.

Otherwise, my memory of Fedor has already been tarnished from that HW tourney and subsequent bouts afterwards. No need to ruin whats left of his legacy any further.

I can't wait for the man to get back in the cage.

Imagine Silva coming back and we feed him some no names and has beens.

You weren't there to watch this man play with his food before killing it. It was embarrassing how much better he was than everyone.

Key word you said there "how much better he WAS"
That Fedor is gone, now he's jus a money hungry Avg fighter at best. Like he lost to hendo come on. You can't compare Fedor return to Antonio Silva as Silva has been completely dominated and throughly beaten in the ring in years.

I'm not saying he's still the greatest but that person is still in there and we can see flashes of it and I think an older rested Fedor can still wreck these dudes. No one knows until he steps into the ring. But if he's coming in, let him fight someone interesting. These guys only fight 1-2 times a year now. So Fedor's got like 3-4 fights left. I don't want any of those fights wasted on bullshyt fighters.

Vitor has bigger problems than the no sponsors. He got dismantled by Weidman. Look even if he opened a league with fighters 45 and up the :flabbynsick: of it would be :wow: TRT would have to be allowed.

This whole Fedor thing has to stop breh. I got to see a lil bit of Silva training. Dude trains 3 times a day about 6 times a week and he's adding a new martial arts to his arsenal.

This is the equilavent of fans wanting to see Brett Favre come back after everyone knows hes done. At some point guys like this just gotta transition to retirement and help the next up and comer make it.

But him being done is debatable. If he loses to Mir. Then yea, go back to Russia. I think he can still beat the UFC Champ, Werdum easily. He'll wreck JDS IMO. But we won't know until he gets in there. But first let's put in there.

I don't get why you would resist a potentially insane fight and seeing some new exciting match ups. What do we as fans have to lose?
