Kind of. It was more like if he does come back cool if not its whatever. No one was holding a countdown till his contract was up. The only time his name was mentioned seriously was when low tier bums like Overeem or Mir were calling him out looking for an easy pay day/win. Dana would only give that silly smirk of his and say hes under contract to WWE. That was the extent of that. Any real MMA fan knew if he did come back, he would just be a attraction piece and not a serious contender. He would be in that Cro, Pitbull role. And he would command a lot of money to be a low tier gatekeeper
