I'm not talking about Rumble. This about Gus. He has pretty decent KO power. Not 1-shot KO power, but he still has power in his fists.
Hes a top 10 LHW of course hes going to have SOME power in his fists, but thats not what I was talking about, I was clearly talking about the underline.

Jones hasnt faced ANYONE with AJ sort of power. Rampage was the last and that old man aint got the same explosiveness as AJ. Jones still played matador until the later rounds. I predict he'll do the same against AJ. If he tries to stand and counter like Gus, hes going to sleep tho.

Gus has no KO power, Vitor old ass was never going to get into range. Tex got clinched out, Ill give you Machida.

AJ is a different beast. AJ would put all of them too sleep. He already did Gus, and the Vitor fight dont count cause he was a zombie at 170.

But Vitor fought him @ 205. The beginning of the TRT Vitor era iirc. I forgot Rashad too.

But are you only counting dudes who get inside or trade with him? I don't think Jones will ever need to develop an infighting game since he has an advantage in the clinch and it's taken ages for him to make progress on his hands. I barely ever see him throwing hooks before the DC fight. He's at a disadvantage inside anyway. But he's fought every dude on the feet albiet outside their range. I fukks wit that. No lay and pray like GSP

The fact remains Gus has KO power. It's far from the best and it's not 1-shot type of power. But it's still there.

I felt the same way, but then I saw how effortless he got in on Alex who has the same range and excellent foot work and I quickly changed my mind. :merchant:

Gus doesn't really give a fukk about fighting long or getting hit. He was letting Shogun in a lot in their fight and even got taken down. Jones is not the same way. He may get tagged, but best believe hes going maintain distance and let Johnson tire out chasing him, getting clinched up, and leaned on against the cage. That why I still think Gus is Jones biggest threat. He has the size, footwork, and boxing to frustrate Jones. Rumble ultimately was a bad matchup for Gus didn't have the strong wrestling/grappling to neutralize the power when he got countered. Jones will feast off Johnson with those teeps/jabs and always hop out of range when Johnson rushes in with is wild attacks

Vitor was at 205, but I think Vitor is too small for him. Rashad too. AJ, much like JJ, fight HWs in sparring (yea i know dc did too, dc did a good job against jj, he just got dominated)

I see JJ avoiding the stand up against AJ, wrestling, then picking him apart in the championship rounds. I dont think AJ can go 5 without burning out against Jones.

This is why I said the only chance AJ has is if cocky JJ shows up and decides he wants to stand and bang to test himself. The moment he tries that, hes going to sleep. Maybe hes just tweeting that for kicks, and he knows damn well the mature gameplan Jones is showing up that night. We shall see.

I just find it so funny how every1 is sipping the UFC promo kool aid and actually thinking Rumble Johnson is some big heavy puncher and knock out machine. he headbutt Gus, that wasn't some big 1 shot knock out.

When i look at Johnson's record I dont see 1 impressive knock out. half his fights he was fighting guys at 170, and at lhw hes knocked out who, old man nog? mike kyle? oh yeah i forgot dj linderman. This is just dana and the ufc trying to hype up someone to fight Bones and make some money as really after Gus there is no1 at lhw at this moment that can really challenge for the belt.

then you start talking about TKO which isnt fukking KO. I didnt say he aint got TKO power, I said he has no KO power. do you know what a KO is? good, he has 2 in his whole career. that boy is not putting people to sleep like that. stop.

A lot of people use KO & TKO interchangeably.

Man tell me you are really running around with that bullshyt. Gus was still fine after that and was fighting normally before he got headkick'd/barrage of uppercuts that sent him diving all over the mat. And then you going to shyt on his power while propping DC when his only true KO was glass jaw Big foot? :mjlol:Nobody outside that fluke Sokoduju Pride fight(which was probably fixed) had KO'd Nog. We talking about a world champion who had guys like Evans scared to box with him and Johnson walked through him like nothing
