Anderson Silva went through drama this Monday morning. After a jiu-jitsu practice at XGym, in Rio de Janeiro, the fighter felt severe back pain when trying to get up and fell to the floor. Crying from pain, Spider despaired when he noticed he couldn't feel his legs, something that lasted a few minutes. He was put on a stretcher and taken to Barra D'Or Hospital, where he was examined by a back specialist, orthopedist Sérgio Gurgel. The former UFC champion underwent magnetic resonance, tomography and blood tests, none of which indicated anything serious with his health. The diagnostic was of acute lumbago (low back pain), and Anderson was discharged Tuesday morning, after spending the night under medical care for precaution.

The Spider has a history of lumbago, so this was not the first time he suffered with back issues. He'll have to take a few days off from training, but in theory the episode won't interfere with his fight against Nick Diaz, slated for Janurary 31 at UFC 183.
