Anderson Silva went through drama this Monday morning. After a jiu-jitsu practice at XGym, in Rio de Janeiro, the fighter felt severe back pain when trying to get up and fell to the floor. Crying from pain, Spider despaired when he noticed he couldn't feel his legs, something that lasted a few minutes. He was put on a stretcher and taken to Barra D'Or Hospital, where he was examined by a back specialist, orthopedist Sérgio Gurgel. The former UFC champion underwent magnetic resonance, tomography and blood tests, none of which indicated anything serious with his health. The diagnostic was of acute lumbago (low back pain), and Anderson was discharged Tuesday morning, after spending the night under medical care for precaution.

(...)

The Spider has a history of lumbago, so this was not the first time he suffered with back issues. He'll have to take a few days off from training, but in theory the episode won't interfere with his fight against Nick Diaz, slated for Janurary 31 at UFC 183.

and squander an 18 fight win streak? :heh: he had no reported trouble cutting this fight and was spry in the championship rounds no issue..If gsp's pansy ass and tito were never forced I dont see why aldo and jones are always ask to

Yeah, why should Aldo go up its not like GSP's body suffered any major injuries over the yrs from the taxing weight cut, just a couple major knee surgeries right. Meanwhile he watched him lay and pray so many fighters to decision wins wow what fun. And who Tito, yeah that big weight definitely didn't affect his body, he only had multiple back surgeries and again, another lay and pray fighter.

Look at Frankie Edgar man, when he fought at his own natural weight he had success at 155. When he started cutting weight to fight 'smaller' guys hes not even mentioned anymore.

Brehs, I'm a huge MMA fan. I hadn't missed a UFC event from 2009 to 2013 but I've been real apathetic lately. :wow:I was pumped for Aldo/Mendes II and it delivered, but the last fight before that which got me really excited... :patrice: I guess it was Lawler/Brown. There's a 3 month gap there :beli:

Oversaturation and a plague of injuries = much less and more infrequent piff than a few years ago. :mjcry:

This weekend should be decent though.

Just rewatched Fedor/Werdum again... it is still shocking to me :wow: crazy how it happened, Fedor escaped the first triangle and turned right around and got caught in another.

It's a new era in MMA. Only dude who is still killing it from 2009ish is Aldo. I'm just feeling a little nostalgic tonight brehs :to:

I can't really decipher what you are saying here it's lost in your sarcasm but from what I gather you are trying to make some parallel between injuries and someone thats fighting out of their natural weightclass? On that premise Cain should be a lhw? Or should that be super hw. And Pettis should be a 145er right? :mindblown: What ever happened to just wear and tear from training rigorously for years "clean"

Light heavyweight bellator champion Emanuel Newton came into my work today and we talked for about 20 minutes

-Said he's coming out to the mortal Kombat theme next fight
-the winner of Bonnar/Tito should get the next fight after mcgready
-If not belator wants to do Newton/King MO III
-Called Bjorn Rebny the fakest dude ever. Said "he's glad that motherfukker is gone"

- Scott coker has done good fixing all of Bjorn mistakes
