Brehs, I watched Sergio's performance against Chavez last nite, and Miguel's performace against Rodriguez. I recognize that both were two very different fights, and one shouldn't do too much comparison between styles and opponents from different fights, but I got a feeling Cotto might just win this thing. For the longest, I figured Cotto was in for the worst azz whoopin of his life, but I'm leaning towards him winning this thing now. Might change my mind as the fight gets closer, but as of now I'm thinking Miguel might just pull this off.

It comes down to Cotto's left hand (his excellent jab and GAWD-like hook to the liver) and whether or not Sergio's speed and unique athleticism will be too much for Cotto to handle. But hey, if he was able to bloody Floyd's nose, who says he can't do any damage to Sergio? Especially that left hook to the body.

You should have watched this fight instead.

Then again, that was before he got involved with Roach. I know a lot of people are gonna poo-poo it, but if Cotto pulls this off, Roach will get a shyt-ton of credit for it.

Rodriguez just fought to a draw against the Brooklyn Brawler breh, I wouldn't feel too confident over that(154 lb) victory. :mjpls:

Cotto goes through trainers like the seasons, at this point in his career I don't see him changing. I could be wrong though. :yeshrug:

And I actually get with what you're saying. I'm just being aware of how media folks will glorify how "Roach Fixed Cotto", even though Cotto is a well-seasoned vet, not some bum who's shot. But Freddie has been named Trainer of the Year for a reason. And he was also the one who taught GSP to use the jab extensively (right before he fukked up Koscheck's eye)

Freddie will deserve at least some form of credit (unwanted, unwarranted or not) if Cotto beats Sergio.

Cotto is gonna get his ass whopped, no doubt. But I give him mad props for even taking this fight. He could have made alot more money fighting Canelo, but he's taking a much tougher fight for less money and focusing on making history instead. PR's first 4 division champ :wow:

I don't think he wins, but I'll be rooting for him regardless

How would everyone feel about Cotto beating Martinez at this point? Major Props or "He should beat him anyway"?
