i feel for sergio- this nikka knee said no dice. cotto did what he was supposed to- but 3 of those knockdowns was suspect to me. still cotto was gonna win this regardless cause sergio knee ain't healthy enough to box at an elite level no more. just wish we coulda seen it with a healthy knee sergio.

as for cotto, sky is the limit as far as matchups. but he is too small for 160, floyd probably would fight him there to steal a belt though. that cotto and canelo is inevitable if canelo get past lara (i think he will).

Props to Cotto, but damn those knees looked brittle tonight.

Dude was literally falling down whenever he would try and throw something with his weight on the front foot. Great win for Cotto and all that but I'm still not sold on this "new Cotto" with Roach. He beat a jobber and a nikka with no knees and even still he was getting tagged.

No it's not. GGG is the legit #2 guy in the division now, but Cotto can make bigger money elsewhere.
Floyd, Canelo (assuming he beats Lara), and Pacquiao (although I doubt Roach wants this fight at all) all bring more money and publicity for Cotto.
Since Cotto weighed 155 at the weigh in, he could fight anywhere from 147 to 160 and can't get criticized for what weight class he fights in.

At this point, and based on tonight's performance, Cotto has a lot leverage to help get any fight he wants. He can unify with GGG, or go for big money with either Canelo or Floyd II. I say he fights Canelo in Dec. (assuming Canelo gets by Lara) That would be more likely of being in NYC than a Floyd fight (I just don't see Floyd leaving Vegas). As for Cotto/Canelo, it can be either MSG, or even in Brooklyn. And to add more incentive to this, the winner could be in line to face Floyd again in 2015. At least, that's how I see it.
