UCLA blocks Michigan from TE Chris Clark's transfer list
ANN ARBOR -- Chris Clark, the top-rated tight end in the 2015 recruiting class, is back on the market again.
Only this time, his decision won't involve Michigan.
Clark, a 6-foot-6, 247-pounder from Avon, Connecticut, chose UCLA over Michigan on national signing day in February, but didn't last long in Los Angeles, leaving the program after one game this season.
He's now looking for a new home as a transfer, but Michigan won't be on the list. Clark confirmed to MLive on Wednesday that UCLA has restricted him from considering Michigan, Michigan State or Ohio State in his transfer process. Rivals.com first reported the news.
Clark said UCLA gave him no explanation as to why he's been blocked from Michigan, Michigan State or Ohio State -- as none of those three teams are on UCLA's schedule over the next four years. Michigan does have a home-and-home scheduled with UCLA -- but that series doesn't begin until the 2022 season.
"It's kind of ridiculous, to be honest, they have no right to block Michigan or Michigan State or Ohio State because they don't play each other," "It's something I'm looking into with my family.
"There's a chance I could appeal it ... just because that's not really fair."
A one-time Michigan commit during the Brady Hoke era, Clark backed off his pledge hours after Hoke was fired Dec. 2.
Michigan continued to heavily recruit him after Jim Harbaugh was hired in late December, but ultimately lost on signing day to the Bruins.
Per
Rivals.com, Clark currently has plans to visit Pittsburgh, N.C. State and Virginia.
