Throughout the week leading up to Michigan's match-up against Ohio State, Wolverine247 will be previewing the big names on campus individually as Michigan is set for an epic recruiting weekend

Overview: Despite being an official visitor, Davis is actually going to drive from the Baltimore area to Ann Arbor. He leaves Friday afternoon and will be accompanied by his mother, his grandmother and potentially other family members depending on how plans shake out.

This will be Davis's second visit to Michigan during his recruiting process, and the Wolverines have been the public leader in his recruitment for months. Two programs that seem to be staying in the race are Florida and UCLA, although neither has been officially visited at this point in the process.

His last visit to Ann Arbor was for Michigan's spring game in early April. A highlight of the trip for Davis was a trip to Red Robin with his family and the entire family of offensive coordinator Tim Drevno, who even brought his own mother along. The relationship with Drevno has been a driving point behind the Wolverines likely commanding lead in his recruitment, as mom loves what the Wolverines have to offer.

Recruitment: Davis is the nation's top overall offensive guard according to the 247Sports Composite, and his addition would give the Wolverines the top composite guard (Davis) and the top guard according to 247Sports (Michael Onwenu).

His top five has remained relatively consistent, as Georgia, Alabama and UCLA have been with Michigan most of the way. Florida has emerged ahead of hometown Maryland and right now those five schools would probably be the top five. Again, his 247Sports Crystal Ball is heavy towards the Wolverines for a reason.

Michigan's chances: This is where it gets a little bit dicey, as the Michigan staff would really like to take a tackle to finish out the cycle up front. With true freshman Grant Newsome seeing the field in his first season in Ann Arbor, it makes tackle even more of a priority and the current belief is that Ben Bredeson may project to the middle somewhere for this staff, possibly even at center.

IF Michigan has room for Davis, he is a Wolverine. I view his recruitment as similar to linebacker Jonathan Jones. I wouldn't completely rule out Davis trying to commit to the staff this weekend if the visit goes well enough.

Quotable: “Good feet, he has some of the best feet of any lineman I’ve ever coached. He’s extremely smart. When coaches come in and talk football with him they can see it’s clear why he’s really good. Has a good understanding of the game. He’s a tenacious blocker. That combination of skills makes him attractive to coaches.” - DeMatha head coach Elijah Brooks to 247Sports National Analyst Steve Wiltfong

What do you brehs think? We already have to highly ranked guards in this class but I'm thinking take him more elite linemen you add faster the rebuild:jbhmm:still need tackles desperately that 2013 o-line class is killing us:beli:
