hows the back 7 (especially CB) lookin for you guys this year? thats been such a sore spot for years. O looks scary on paper, wish u guys luck dont want USC/Bama etc to win another one

I haven't been this happy about out back 7 in a really long time. I'm more worried about us getting pressure on the QB right now with our front 4 .. especially with Frank Clark breaking into people's dorms and stealing MacBooks.
Out back 7 looks like this:
Cornerback - Blake Countess (BEAST) and JT Floyd (Buster that'll lose his job to Courtney Avery by game 3 cause Avery's damn good and physical). We've got added depth now with Terrance Talbott and Raymon Taylor and 4 star Terry Richardson (who'll probably redshirt if all goes according to plans.)
Safeties - Jordan Kovacs is a damn good strong safety. I just wish he were a bot more athletic. But he reads plays like its nobody's business and hits like a truck. His run help is damn impressive. Thomas Gordan's gonna be roaming at free safety now that he's finally healthy. He's got all the tools so we'll see if he stays healthy. All signs point to no, but we'll be hoping. We've got depth here too with Junior Josh Furman and 4 star Freshman Jarrod Wilson. (He enrolled early and the coaches LOVE the way he plays.
Linebackers - Redshirt sophomores Desmond Morgan and Jake Ryan start alongside senior All Big 10 Kenny Demens. Depth here is great too with Mike Jones (who??) and Brandon Hawthorne along with True Freshman (and early enrolee) Joe Bolden. (Ask Ohio fans about him ..)
I'd give our back 7 an 8/10 and only getting better with these classes.
Countess got beat a little too much for my liking last season but he is young and athletic so he should be a lot better this year.

The main time that sticks out in my mind as far as him getting burnt was the Ohio game. Mattison had his safeties in close all game as well as his corners pressing all game. You leave a freshman in Countess, on an island to go one on one with a senior in DeVier Posey, and I would have expected Posey to have a lot better day that the 3 catch/50 yard and a touchdown day that he had. I remember him getting beat a couple of other times last season too .. but by the end of the year, he was our most reliable corner. He's only gonna get better.

Yeah Countess is the best corner on the team. He's on the pre-season Thrope Award list already as a soph. Expecting big things from him this season.
Aye Truth Me don't forget Talbott transfered. We should be good at corner tho.

shyt, you're right. Forgot about the Talbott transfer. Like you said tho .. we should be good anyways depth wise.
