ANN ARBOR -- The Michigan football team had two players leave the field for differing injuries on Saturday.
And postgame, after fourth-ranked Michigan
staved off Indiana, 31-20, Jim Harbaugh sounded optimistic about both.
We'll begin with running back Berkley Edwards, the more gruesome of the two, who took a helmet-to-helmet hit on kickoff coverage in the fourth quarter.
Edwards was knocked out from the hit from Indiana linebacker Cam Jones -- who was flagged for targeting and ejected from the game -- and had to be carted off the field.
Harbaugh said the graduate transfer suffered a "good-sized" concussion, but was talking and responding to medical personnel on the way off the field.

Edwards was laid out by Indiana linebacker Cam Jones in the fourth quarter, during a kickoff return.
"He looked good when he left here, but he was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons," Harbaugh said. "So, yeah, it felt good that doctors have it well under control.
"Prayers for him, though. A lot of prayers for him."
His older brother, former Michigan receiver Braylon Edwards, tweeted late Saturday night that Berkley suffered a dislocated shoulder, but "is moving and talking.
"He has persevered through much and this is just the next obstacle in his way," Braylon wrote.

Meanwhile, defensive end Chase Winovich had X-rays at the stadium and at a nearby hospital, testing negative for a break.
Winovich (four tackles, one for a loss) exited the game in the third quarter, walking off the field under his own power, after taking a hit away from the ball. He appeared to land hard on his left shoulder, though Harbaugh declined to reveal the specific nature -- or location -- of the injury.
"Things are progressing well with Chase," Harbaugh said. "We won't go into what body part it was."
Asked if he anticipates having Winovich back for Michigan's regular-season finale against Ohio State next Saturday, a game that will decide the Big Ten East and who plays in the league title game, Harbaugh said: "Don't know."
O-LINE NOTE: Juwann Bushell-Beatty got the start at right tackle for Michigan, but quickly came out of the game for sophomore Andrew Stueber.
The reason?
"He was working through something," Harbaugh said, referring to an injury. "He tried to go, and we felt like Stueber would be more effective. Hopefully, Juwann, we get him back to 100 percent next week."
