it seriously is like watching 1986 football with the play calling. hes too stubborn to change or relinquish control to an offensive mind thats modern. you watch the dozens of other games and you see all kinds of offensive creativity, much of it with much less talent on that side of the football, and then you see a team full of 4 and 5 star guys running hb traps and counters every other play. its painful to watch

he's overrated :stopitslime:

many has him being top 10 pick overall.

he might have top 10 talent, but he sure don't play like one. :mjcry:

He’s good, and can take a game over, his issue is disciplined rush when he can’t just pin his ears back, it was the same issue when we played osu last year, you don’t rush a wide arch with a qb that likes to run, you control rush, forcing your man to close the pocket on him, or you have penetration up the gut and have him get funneled to you

I think this was the best analysis of where we are as of last night

Like i said in the Auburn game thread, getting your oline to gel is the hardest, and it takes time

I think it’s limitation by o line talent and wr ability, plus last year our qbs were pure ass,

He didn’t keep Shae under center, he moved the pocket as well, I’m pleased with the way we moved the ball, the issue was when we needed to strike deep, or being behind in the chains, shae had 1-2 seconds to throw a 5-7 second route. i think harbs issue is in game adjustments, this is always his Achilles heel, we won’t be next level until he does this, we get talent but we won’t ever get Alabama level talent so we gotta adjust to what they doing, but i also noticed, we gotta get some speed out there, Bush is our fastest player, outside maybe a corner, we gotta change that narrative

felt like they couldnt have played much worse and there was a handful of easily correctable mistakes and they probably win that game. the awful awareness on sack that took em out of fg range. the botched fg snap. the db going up with t rex arms on the ball he should have intercepted that was a nd td. the dumb third down penaties that extended another nd td drive instead of being a fg. the no call on the late 4th down PI on the underthrown ball where the wr was clearly held. the 15 minute drill inside 4 minutes down 2 scores. the punt fielded at the 2. the stupid play call that led to a sack on 2nd and goal from the 2. team was a mess in all aspects, and that ultimately also falls on the coach. what were they doing all offseason at practice?

Its a week 1 loss on the road to a top 10 team by 7 points....

This...Michigan will be fine. They’re struggling mightily on the road against ranked opponents (the graphic said they haven’t beaten a ranked opponent on the road since fukking 2006).

Y’all just have a murderous schedule this year...shape up and you could end up with 1-3 losses or fukk up and have a season like last year...or worse.

Week 1 on the road against a ranked rival is tough. MSU looked like shyt at home, PSU needed OT to best App. State lol

I'm a harbaugh "guy" I guess you can say and I can clearly see the improvement he's made since coming on but being 9-9 in the last 18, breh gotta do better than that.

I cant really comment cuz I didn't watch the game. But alumni is gonna drill him for a bit.. He just has to beat Mich st and either Wisc or Ohio St to sorta make all this go away for the year.

i'm so tired of these supposedly 5 player not coming through in a big game. last night was a big game. and he didn't do a damn thing.

i'm sure his talent will someday take over and become the true beast. but probably in the NFL, and not for us. time after time we don't develop kids enough.

and how about DPJ? many nikkas here said he's gonna be better than braylon. :francis:

i'm just overall disappointed by the level of talent we have. :stopitslime:

It’s only painful to watch because it ain’t working. If those traps and counters was getting 200 yards rushing it would be a different story.

You can see all types of cute offensive creativity when watching tcu or somebody like that. But when You watch a Ohio state game and it’s 20 read options and 10 qb designed runs. Bama not doing no bunch of wild “creative” chit.

yea they are. They are elite at creating space and letting their top notch players get to work. Being creative doesn’t mean doing a bunch of wild formations. It’s simple being unpredictable, and getting your best players in space and allowing them to work playing to their strengths. Adjusting on the fly. Knowing what works and what doesn’t. All of that is creativity

I watched Gary do work last year, he’s good, and dpj i think he wasn’t getting developed, i think he’s finally got some good position coaching
