To me it shouldn't matter. If Peters and McCaffrey are as good as they are supposed to be, then Patterson has no shot at starting and we need the depth at QB given we played 3 this year. If they cannot beat him out, then they aren't good enough to be the QB here. A talented players who have been in the system for 2 (McCaffrey) and 3 (Peters) years shouldn't fear a talented player just learning the system.

Any word on who/where we'll play for the bowl game?

Neither were considered as good recruits as Patterson across the board, and Patterson would have been easily the best QB in the big ten last season. He’d clearly be in line to start but no doubt there’d be legitimate competition.
