You have the option to Truncate parts of a sample within the Sampling menu once you have the WAV file open, but generally, I like to either:

- sample directly into Maschine from the soundcard

- or, chop up the sample in Cool Edit/Audacity and load that file into Maschine

You know honestly, Im still running version 1.6 because I found the chopping and slicing options to be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier, so I might be giving you outdated info...
hmm. alright. I was just hoping the slicing feature would be more like adobe audition. where I could do everything with ease right in the program. maybe I just need to get used to it. good looks

when you have your wav on your pad, hit the sampling button. then the button over "edit". you should be able to set your start and end points, meaning excluse the shyt you dont want.

then hit "audio" then "truncate"

you should slice only once you got the part you need

if youre used to software, you can ignore the box and just do it in the software

You'll be straight. You have to make sure you can run two soundcards or are you just running to out of your current card to the in of your new card?

In Windows 7 i'm running two cards so I can just play a clip from youtube and the second card in Maschine catches the audio with me having to do any soundflower/jack routing shyt.

Well right now im just using the on board soundcard. Because i was just making beats not doing any recording. But i heard if i wanna sample from outside sources i should get a soundcard. Cause th soundflower shyt can be a chore. So you're saying im gonna need to buy 2 soundcards?....or ill be cool with just buying one(aph2496)?

aight. but now i'm reading that the audiophile 2496 doesn't work so well with windows 7, so I might have to look for another one. have any suggestions for a 100 dollar soundcard?
