I LOVE Punisher. He's one of my all-time favs. The very first superhero tee I bought was a Punisher. But I'm only thinking realistically. Which tone will they take for the show?

The dark humor tone of butchering faceless, nameless goons and mobsters will get stale very quickly. The lone wolf calculating, silent but deadly tone will be boring. They're either gonna A-Team it (mission after mission with villain-of-week) with hella shooting only bodies dropping or 1 long arc, which only works if he has a steady villain. No matter what, they're definitely gonna need a team of characters for him to play off of. My guess is they'll make it 80's style A-Team-esque, but more of a Equalizer/Spencer for Hire tone. They could make it like Dexter but they'll still need a supporting cast...especially since he has no day job to break it up.

I'm excited but scared. He's only gonna get one shot at this, which is why I think he works better popping up as supporting. The way I see it, Iron Fist & Luke Cage will only have 1 season each. JJ is done after S2. DD will go on for a while, so maybe 3 more seasons, as the others merge into Defenders/Heroes for Hire. They'll prob give 1 more property a go for Netflix. We're already getting Cloak & Dagger, which is fairly easy. Damage Control is also said to be coming. Maybe something like Nico Minoru and the Runanways would work.

The Punisher's Best Villains

Start from 10 and go up......

Punisher has enough villains to work with for a season.... and an easy obvious is Kingpin. Hell thats a no brainer and can give Vincent playing him a little extra work and money (which I'm sure he wouldnt mind) to pop in and do his thing.

Truth be told, I'm fine with a Punisher closer to the Marvel Knights world and portrayal (ala the Punisher Warzone movie) but am cool with the way they doing it now. I think if they can just continue to be true to who he is and translate his Marvel stories to that screen, the same stories that as you said made you a fan of him, theres not too much wrong they can do. Franchises normally fukk up only when they try to reinvent the wheel or stray from what made the characters popular in the first place.
