Vargas thoroughly got his ass beat, even though he did well in a few rounds. He's a B- fighter that Manny dealt with properly winning 9-3/8-4+the KD.

Vargas is way too slow to fukk with the top welters. Yea he changed his mechanics a little in his right and he throws it straighter, but he still needs to hit a perfect punch to really knock a guy down, like BATB. Unlike BATB he doesn't possess a good jab, any ring generalship for someone who almost always have a reach and height advantage, and he's clunky and robotic.

Vargas should fight Benavidez next. Overall good card, Valdez is a monster, and Manny is still a top 3 WW and p4p guy.

You sleeping on Jessie this is a guy who stood toe to toe with Bradley which ended in a UD. Then bounced back and put Sadam Ali to sleep. Manny don't scare anybody anymore he's a shell of his former self and you and the world will find that out tonight.
Again did you know who he was facing to say that? :pachaha:

5 rounds deep in this Manny looks shyt so far.
Vargas constantly hits him with those straight rights on the body or head and Pac is hesitating to get on the inside. Vargas is 3-2 ahead but since Pac got that flash KD it's a draw so far.

Everywhere...You never there.
for a 37 year old thats been in multiple WARS, and FOTY, and someone that jumped up from 112, and had belts in 7 weight classes,

that boy can still fight

:wow:

but as a manny fan, i hope to god he dont fight a hungry bull liek crawford :whoa:

manny should do the smart thing and rematch mayweather, take his L, and make them 100M's

floyd should also be pushing for the rematch, get that 50-0, big payday, and take that easy win

From a business standpoint, I rock with this. From a boxing standpoint, I'm torn. :patrice:

I think you have to rank him number 1:yeshrug:.....all them other guys haven't beaten anybody to hold that number 1 spot. we can talk all day about errol spence and t craw giving manny issues. bottomline is they haven't beaten shyt. yea they got the talent to give manny trouble but that's vice versa too. difference is manny has shared the ring with all time greats. so being in the ring with guys like crawford, spence, and thurman is not a step up in talent level for manny. for them, manny is a HUGE jump in skill level. they could get in the ring with manny and be completely dumbfounded and get caught clean just like bradley, jmm, cotto, and damn near all the great fighter's manny's faced. manny fought the goat of our era and put in some good work. he got soundly beaten but he still showed why he's an all time great himself. it's funny how dudes just dismiss manny when talking about these young guys as if he's just some decent fighter. even in old age he made tim bradley look basic....I don't see none of those young guys being able to do that. floyd and manny are just in a league of their own at 147 until proven otherwise.

:leon:

He's definitely still a top fighter, but I don't like to see fighters lose via age. If he's gonna stay active, I am sure his team will continue being smart with the matchmaking. Someone like Broner is the best option. Someone with a name who can sell tickets, but not really good enough to beat Pac.

Man fukk that! If he gonna keep fighting and masquerading as a champ, then he needs to fight the young bulls. Floyd was damn near 40 years old and closing out a 6 fight contract that seen him fight Canelo, Chino twice, and Manny, and people were going ape shyt over him getting a "soft touch" in. Now cats are actively signing up for Manny to avoid threats?!?!?!

yeah I don't mind one cause he beat the guy with the best resume there. and don't put craw in it hes not moving to 147 until he got the belts which is lame imo, same with ggg.

but this is boxing and we know age can play a factor and with manny being able to get caught with those powerful rights, I can see why some think some yung gun could catch him and maybe could ko him like marquez did. also he has problems with counter punchers and "movers".

Nobody said he should avoid threats though. Most people are saying at this point in his career and his age that Manny should try to avoid bad stylistic match-ups.
The worst style match-up for him is Crawford but people have been talking about Manny facing guys like Broner, Swift, Thurman all through this thread.

I think manny would be more cautious fighting those guys though. He was pretty much just showing off last night cause he knew he could. facing guys like spence, thurman, and crawford he'll fight more composed like he did with floyd. he was able to hit floyd with some sneaky counters. but thurman, spence, and crawford are nowhere near floyd defensively and don't have that experience either. I could see manny frustrating them and making them fight sloppier than they normally would. that's when they could get caught with some big shots. manny doesn't get enough credit for his ring IQ. dude is a smart fighter. they've never had to deal with anything remotely close to the mind fukk manny can put them through. that's what bradley was alluding to last night. how manny is doing so many different things in there...moving his feet, moving his head, hitting you from angles you've never seen. before you have time to react it's already too late. I could see spence, crawford, and thurman hurting manny with a big shot, but I could just as easily see manny hurting them with a big shot too. I think experience will be a huge factor in those fights.
