WWE has confirmed that episodes 5-8 of The Mae Young Classic will be available on the WWE Network via on-demand beginning on Monday, September 4th. The finals will then stream live from Las Vegas on Tuesday, September 12th at 10pm EST after SmackDown from Vegas goes off the air that night. As noted, the first 4 episodes featuring first round matches will be available on the WWE Network on Monday, August 28th. A "Bracketology" preview special will premiere on Sunday, August 20th after SummerSlam goes off the air.

Shayna is 36, isn't (yet) signed and was a late addition to the MYC field. Kairi is 28 and signed to a 3-year deal after being heavily recruited since last year. I suspect they've had her (& Io who sadly got injured) in mind during the whole process of putting together this tournament. I think it's safe to assume they see a lot more upside long-term with Kairi than with Shayna

They also seem to be leaning towards doing something with the 4HW vs 4HW angle, which really doesn't need Shayna being the MYC winner as part of that story.

Kairi on the other hand would instantly become a legit contender for Asuka by winning the MYC.

Shayna is the best heel in the tournament, Kairi is the best babyface so it made sense for them to meet in the finals.
